Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Wednesday, April 14, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… Hey Gang, Happy New Moon! I’m just gonna wrap up the week through Monday as usual, and hope to High Heaven that some pretty good planets this weekend let me get back on track with the podcast schedule.
As I said though, today IS a New Moon, and it’s bright and early this morning just the way Aries likes it. I don’t know about you, but this new moon AND the coming Mercury Retrograde are both in my 10th house of reputation & career. I can’t help but wonder what that means for the coming weeks, since I have nothing but the usual seventeen irons in the fire right now (and they’ve been cooking along just the way I like them to) but I’ll just have to wait and see I guess. I do know I started about a dozen online talent profiles before the move that have just been sitting open in my Firefox, waiting for me to finish…that seems fairly likely, doesn’t it? Maybe I’ll hear from a long-lost boss or two, huh? Oh, the possibilities…
Anyway—coming back to just today, Wednesday, April 14, 2010, we wake up to that bright and shiny Aries new moon at 5:30am this morning on the Pacific coast—and yeah—I bet you really WILL be up early today one way or another. Don’t worry though, the whole world goes a little blurry just after lunchtime Pacific, and that kiss to Neptune kicks off a moon void that says it’s okay to sleep off the afternoon. When the Taurus moon gears up at 3:55pm PST, we’ll return to more serious work again. Nothing else all day till a trine from that Taurus moon to Pluto at 2am PST Thursday morning says it’s a pleasant evening here in the US, and probably a nice wakeup in the UK.
Back to the states for Thursday morning—there’s another of those sharp little jolts at 4:35am this morning—a moon-Mars square indicating that someone’s too-early cries for attention will rub you very much the wrong way (Taurus moon is VERY possessive of its sleep), but someone else gives you kudos in the afternoon, and all is right with the world from there on out. The UK and beyond in Europe get a nice treat just before lunch—3:40am Pacific, 11:40am in the UK—someone brings in a lovely bon-bon…
Friday morning April 16 is another Taurus moon day here in the US, with lots of well-connected vibes going on, whether you’re aware of them or not. But Taurus starts to get a little wishy-washy at 7:50pm PST (another good indication that it’s time for some sleep if you’ve ever been mid-conversation with a Taurus as they just suddenly nodded off)—but the snooze will be somewhat brief as we snap awake again just ten minutes later at 8pm. Any late-night work projects will see lots of power behind them as the moon is helped out by Saturn at 10pm PST, and that’ll set off a short moon void.
If you’re going out tonight on the west coast Friday night, don’t head out in this window: 10pm to 11:09pm Pacific there are no results, no consequences, and there’s just nothing to wear. Come the stike of 11:10pm (or thereabouts) you’ll feel the shift in the energy like you’re a jukebox and somebody just plugged you in. I do love the shift from Taurus to Gemini—it’s such a super-fun and noticeable one, where suddenly your phone goes crazy with emails and texts and calls and everything and everyone are just a bit funnier than they were only moments before. Fantastic for socializing and having fun (but I could be a bit partial, as a fellow air sign who just adores Gemini…)
Partial or not, Saturday April 17 is just a lovely day. Venus, still hanging out in Taurus, blows a kiss to Jupiter, who’s drifting happily along in Pisces, and we find our daydreams of sensual pleasures play across the face of someone else as they suddenly have the same desire—whether it be a lusty craving with sugar on top or just a double-scoop hot fudge sundae for lunch. That kiss between these favorite lovers is at 1:45pm Saturday, but we’ll have had that smooth goodness to enjoy along with all the miscellaneous frivolity Friday night, too.
And today’s the day Mercury goes Retrograde, changing direction in the sky from our visual perspective here on earth, and as usual during this three-times-yearly phase, all sorts of very noticeable stuff happens. In the past few weeks, time itself has seemed to go faster and faster each day—you weren’t imagining it, we were all feeling it (though I personally notice it the most as I’m trying to get out of the house in the morning and the hands of the clock keep jumping ahead like a frame-reduced film.) But just as this week ended, you realized you were missing some information. Somebody hasn’t gotten back to you about that oh-so-urgent thing, that email never arrived though they promised, that check hasn’t been deposited, and didn’t Netflix say they shipped that next disk? Where the heck IS it?
Some of those delayed messages won’t get through, period. Some of them will, in the coming days, but you’ll find you care about them/need that information less than you did before. And some will be completely shelved, only to resurface sometime in May, when your main focus will have shifted, but this issue is separate from that somehow, and could wait.
You’ll hear from old friends, lovers, co-workers—some will be significant, some will be so minor they only elicit a “huh…” You’ll remember old ideas that you somehow abandoned along the way, and maybe even dust off one or two for another go. You’ll go back to deal with information or communication that you had to postpone yourself in the last few weeks, or you’ll review the work you’ve done in that period, and retouch it along the way. Or you’ll just change your direction entirely—as in changing your mind about whatever track you were on, depending on where Mercury is transiting in your chart right now. For example, if Mercury is in your 5th house of speculation & romance, perhaps you’ve been thinking of pursuing a certain someone lately. Inside of three weeks, you’ll be on to someone else, or perhaps another way to use your creative energy entirely.
Going back to my “Swarm” blog a month or so back, it’s almost like we’re the giant swarm of anchovies, acting as a single body as we bob and weave to escape a shark. We’ve been swimming along frantically—separate individuals acting with one mind (“go go go!!”) and we’ve suddenly turned the corner to find the shark no longer there. We can stop, slow down. And when we try to remember what it was we were doing before the rush began, we find that we no longer care, and go merrily off in another direction instead. Heh heh. I like this image…
Anyway—of course, I’m sure you’ve already noticed all the other stuff that comes with Mercury retrograde—especially the stations, or the points at which it stops and turns at the beginning and end. Traffic snarls and people driving SUPER-wacky (this time in particular, it seems to me like I’m being pushed by the traffic behind me, and the only way to safely maneuver on the freeway is to keep speeding up and keep up with the flow---Oy, is that stressful…) Oh—and if you’re listening to this podcast on Wednesday or Thursday this week, it’s not too late to back up your hard drive. Don’t delay…
So at 9:05pm PST Saturday April 17th, Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus until May 11th. Use it to your advantage and you won’t find it nearly so frustrating, I promise. There’s got to be something you could review or return to…
And the rest of Saturday evening should be just dreamy, with a kiss from the still-Aries Sun to Neptune in Aquarius. It’s another good night for hanging out with friends.
Moving on to Sunday the 18th of April, the Gemini moon is still with us again this morning, but we’ve really had enough of the jokes and gossip as of 1:10pm. It’s a minor little bump, but the Sun’s inconjunct to Saturn at 2:05am Monday morning might make this whole afternoon feel a little sharper than it should. Remember the very-uncomfortable adjustments you had to make LAST weekend? If you don’t, this will remind you. Deep breaths…
Monday morning April 19, the moon ends a brief and mid-night VOC at 4:40am PST when it moves into Cancer, and as usual, we all might see our energy flag just a bit as we all feel a bit more lethargic today. Not a judgement, just an observation. There’s an interesting little –well, I’ll call it a “point” –at 2:05pm today when the moon opposes Pluto, but for some reason, I don’t feel that this is a bad thing this time. Remember, oppositions are not necessarily BAD—no more than conjunctions are automatically GOOD. With the Sun sextiling Chiron today, I think this little point is just the one that brings up that poignant moment or memory for some deeply-felt healing. Get this little chain of events: At 9:25pm Pacific, the Sun sextiles or kisses, Chiron. At 9:30pm, the Sun shifts into Taurus, and our whole vibe changes for the steady. And at 11:25pm Pacific, Chiron steps out of electric Aquarius and into Pisces, meaning that our healing can become both more private and more profound, as it now stretches to every morsel of our awareness, no longer held captive by the busy mind that wants to analyze it’s every cause and meaning. Get it? This little sextile reflects a major shift that’s possible for every one of us today—one that allows us to feel our place in the Grand Scheme, to feel more solid in ourselves at the same time, and to get to work on Bigger Things… What a great way to start the week…
LOL—and JUST in case Merc retro doesn’t help me out by getting me back on track with the podcast schedule, Tuesday the 20th is a Cancer moon day in which nothing happens but good stuff and you eat too much at dinner. So there.
LOL again…
During this Mercury retrograde, I think there’s a bigger-than usual chance of changing our thinking on some things—I didn’t even touch on it this time around, but Saturn opposes Uranus soon, in the 4th of five oppositions since 2008. THAT’LL definitely bring an unexpected change of mind, I’d say—whether it’s our individual one, or our collective One… …but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

Tue, 6 April 2010
Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Tuesday, April 6, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise…
Thank you so much for tuning in. In addition to these free weekly podcasts, I post daily updates on Twitter and at facebook.com/itsplanetary, where you can become a fan to get my daily updates in your News Feed. I also offer personal astrology reports at seriously reasonable prices (the first one’s free!) and in-depth personal readings via Skype, phone, email, or in person for the Las Vegas area. At the end of the podcast there’s a coupon code, valid for $10 off the price of readings, so stay tuned!
Well, as usual, I’m running behind on nearly everything in my life, mainly because Jozef and I are still half in boxes and such around the new place. I’ll have a couple of days this week to get a little more situated, and (eek) it looks like my pace might be calming down a bit in the coming weeks anyway (but work-wise, I really hope not.) Jozef, on the other hand, is about to see his work life take off as he assumes his new position with one of the hottest lounge bands on the Strip, playing nearly every night for the rest of this month and then steadily off into the future. Woo-hoo! Yes, it’s absolutely fantastic for him, but naturally, it’s going to change our lives fairly significantly, and for the first few weeks, I’m sure it’ll be very challenging for both of us…
I’m sure we’re not the only ones running like crazy these days. I know I keep talking about the pace since Mars turned direct last month, but this frantic pace will continue picking up as we get closer and closer to the coming Mercury Retrograde on the 17th of this month. This week, however—in addition to time speeding up all around us—we have all kinds of wackiness kicking in, and I’m being a little more than gentle by calling it “wacky.” Let me frame up three big things happening this month, because I think we’re gonna be under the influence of these starting oh about NOW.
First, at the end of this week, Mars is inconjunct Pluto—meaning seriously irritating adjustments in the very areas where we’re struggling to let go of outworn things and patterns in our lives. Here we are, trying to stretch and grow and release, and something comes along and stabs us in the side like a knife. This isn’t debilitating—not yet—but it will definitely cause some adjustments and irritations that are pretty intense, and could very well see us responding by snapping back into the very patterns that we’re trying to move out of. This is reinforced by Saturn making an inconjunct to Chiron on Monday the 12th. Old habits and patterns could be the most comforting right now, but will also be exactly what causes that stab from Mars to be a wound that doesn’t heal like it should. Of course—whatever issues surface this week could also very well be the ripping open of an old scar—again, causing irritations and adjustments all around, and on a much bigger scale than the usual day-to-day. Overriding all of this is the opposition between Saturn & Uranus on the 26th of April. This fourth of five oppositions spanning from late 2008 to this coming summer illustrates the on-going struggle between the Old School and New Ideas. Think of the hippies putting flowers down the gun barrels of the military forces during the demonstrations of the late sixties. And that’s the nicer version of this opposition—Uranus can get downright electric when it wants to. I’m not even gonna go into Pluto’s involvement in this showdown—plenty of time to ruminate on THAT this year—and frankly, I’ve lost track of the score in this on-going battle between Saturn and Uranus, but I think there’s at least a chance for this one to be a surge by the Old School, since Saturn is moving Retrograde right now. Then again, Health Care Reform did just pass, in some form or another, so maybe retrograde = retreat. But Saturn also moves back into health-related Virgo this week, so the nightmare might just be in finalizing the details of the Reform. Maybe the Old School intends to drag out the process, delaying things until later this summer, when it could just take an earth-shattering event to finally force things to click into their final position.
Thankfully, once Saturn turns direct again, it’ll move into Libra to stay, and compromise and working together will once again become easier—a big help during this year’s T-square…
So anyway, this summer’s madness sees a little preview--hopefully the tiniest of previews—but a preview in one way or another starting this week, and potentially lasting through the end of the month. *sigh*
Anyway---again, it’s Tuesday, April 6, 2010, and we wake up this morning to the same Capricorn moon that’s had us busy busy busy since Sunday night. Today is truly excellent for getting things done again, especially things revolving around communication, information, and organization. Thank goodness, because this is my best day for getting the closets and bathrooms in order. The day even starts off great with a sextile from the moon to Jupiter at 6:45am PST. What’s not to love? At 7:35pm Pacific, Pluto goes retrograde. Pluto in retrograde is a toughie—we’ll start to see the transformations around us go more internal, and yes, you can expect earthquakes and such on a soul-level, bringing down outworn beliefs and creating room for new structures. (Astrogrrl has a great article on this at http://www.astrogrrl.com/2010/03/pluto-retrograde-april-6-to-september.html) The last aspect for the Pacific Coast today is actually at 1:20am Wednesday morning, sending the moon VOC with a sextile to Uranus, king of the unexpected or brilliant inspiration.
We wake up Wednesday morning to another very determined mind, with the newly-Aquarian moon (as of 5:55am PST) trining Saturn just before it steps backward into Virgo for its last visit in the sign of Health & Detailed Information at 11:50am this morning. The upbeat Aquarian moon will butt heads with Mars, still rather self-focused in Leo at 3pm, and will square Mercury, who’s concerned with “what belongs to ME” right now in Taurus, at 8:45pm Pacific tonight. One last square to Venus at 12:50am Thursday morning should exhaust the easily-overwhelmed Aquarian moon and send us all to bed, if we’re not there already.
Fortunately, that same Aquarian moon will get a bit of a break on Thursday the 8th, as the skies are clear all day. That’s great for me, as I’m hoping to connect with Jackie, Jaysen, Calene and Samina for readings that day, and a clear antenna and ability to multitask and socialize will definitely come in handy. The moon sextiles the Aries sun tonight at 8:55pm PST, so it’ll be an active evening, full of friends and making plans.
Friday April 9th sees the last morning of the Aquarius moon this month, and again things are clear until 2:45pm, when the fog rolls in with a meeting with Neptune, and the moon goes VOC until 6:50pm Pacific. When it shifts into Pisces tonight, the fog will begin to feel more natural to all of us, and work and results can resume, at least as much “work” as Pisces is ever capable of…
Saturday the 10th of April sees an early inconjunct from the sensitive Pisces moon to Mars (who just doesn’t understand the “feeling” energy) at 5:25am Pacific, but a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn at 5:45am says, “that’s alright—just let go.” A kiss to Mercury at 2:40pm and the communication is all there, even if it IS under the radar—but today is also when that Mars-Pluto inconjunct and all its accompanying adjustments and intense irritations are exact—at 5:50pm Pacific, to be precise. Keep your head all week, and particularly over the weekend—the best thing to release is any expectation that YOU are somehow deserving of more than you’re currently receiving, and to let any ideas of your own magnitude blow away like so much dust…A pleasant moment tonight at 8:30pm might make things momentarily better—use this energy to embrace what remains of value in your life.
Sunday April 11th wakes up in that same dreamy Pisces moon, and a meeting with Jupiter here at 10:05am PST makes it a lovely morning—a great one to feel the sun and to give thanks to God/the universe for all your blessings. With all the irritations we’re still probably feeling right now, I’d say that expression of gratitude is the best possible salve we can apply right now—and with this glorious aspect this morning, it will have the best effect. Take advantage of it; lift your arms to the sky and say THANK YOU! You’ll feel fantastic, I promise.
A late-night surprise at 2:40am might be an inspiration so divine that it wakes you out of a sound sleep. Keep a notebook by your bed Sunday night so you can get it down in your bleary state—it’ll be gone by morning…
Monday April 12th, it’ll be hard to get up (maybe due to last night’s surprise?) as the Pisces moon makes one last opposition to Saturn at 5:50am, putting you in a bit of a sour or serious mood with nothing to be done about it until the moon shifts into action-oriented Aries at 6:30am PST. But this morning at 8:50am Pacific, Saturn completes it’s quincunx (the other name for the inconjunct, which I usually try not to pronounce since I’ve never actually heard it said aloud) to Chiron. This is the moment that the boss comes down on us for some screw-up that we find particularly embarrassing. Actually—this could happen anytime in the week or weekend leading up to this—and of course, “boss” is just another word for husband, father, authority figure, the police, the government, the Old School, etc. This “little” thing is where we get smacked on the knuckles (hard) for that same old weakness that we’ve tried and tried to overcome, and that we try so very hard to hide from the world. The tough thing to remember as we cope with this shame and pain is that this is a gift: it’s an opportunity to discover why this particular wound is part of our psyche in the first place—and maybe to release that old pain and all expectations around resolving it. Embrace our humanity in the face of our desire for perfection, and embrace others who share this humanity at the same time. TRY. I mean it.
If this rap on the knuckles hasn’t happened sometime over the weekend or during the day on Monday, you can expect to feel it by 5pm Pacific on Monday, when the Aries moon runs afoul of Pluto. Fortunately, by 6:15pm, we get a little rush of positive energy to help us BEGIN to move past this…
I’m gonna go ahead and cover Tuesday—with Jozef playing his new (and surely exhausting) gig every night till 2am this week and us still unpacking, I don’t know when we’ll be able to record, so I want to get us covered just a bit ahead. So: Tuesday April 13th. Guess what? There’s nothing. That’s right, no moon or planetary aspects the entire day. We’re in a highly energized Aries moon, preparing for the New Moon on Wednesday, so perhaps Tuesday is best spent in recovery from the stressful weekend, and getting your New Moon intentions set nicely in stone. You can state them out loud or on paper today or tomorrow the 14th—either way, they’ll be nice and powerful, since this is the astrogical New Year, in a manner of speaking. Pay attention to your personal aspects (available for free at astro.com) to get additional clues to what’s going on on Tuesday the 13th.

Mon, 29 March 2010
Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Monday, March 29, 2010.
Well, well, well---so what’s wrapping up in YOUR life as this week begins? I’d have to take a larger step back than I’m prepared to right now to see if I can draw lines out from today’s full moon at 9 degrees of Libra and see how far back into the past they reach—but it IS tempting. Regular listeners will know that my husband Jozef & I have been living as roommates of another couple since before we even met, and that situation is now drawing to a close as he and I head out into a place of our own for the first time in our relationship and marriage. Naturally, as educational and beneficial for both of us this has been—not only providing a strong financial base to whether the difficult economy and giving us a strong and healthy marriage to model ours on to at least some extent—it’s time for us to move on and get some space. Clearly it’s needed as well, as our own lives are expanding just as the Pickle’s is in the former household. We’re so excited, and while the process actually began sometime in January as we began discussing it for the first time and checking out options, it kicked into gear on the weekend prior to the new moon on March 15th, when we dropped the first items at the new place—to hopefully make it a bit warmer for our soon-to-be-landlord during his last two weeks before renting it to us.
I don’t know about you, but a LOT has happened in the last two weeks—more than I can even list here—but MAN has the vast majority of it been seriously good stuff. Things we’ve been waiting months (if not YEARS) to come to pass has clicked in suddenly and as soundly as though it was always meant to be, and I believe it was. It’s funny, when I look at the things that have happened in the last two weeks—in our case, they’re not really related to the move—but as usual, when I step back and look at the big picture, everything falls in line like the denoument at the end of Fight Club or something—like once you have the missing piece of the puzzle, you can replay everything with a renewed clarity, suddenly understanding why things happened exactly the way they did.
For example, I know that I’m not focused on the same direction and goals that I was back during the holidays when Mars went retrograde. And while I definitely felt stymied in certain areas during the retrograde itself, I was feeling other areas of my life gaining momentum. Since Mars turned direct again just before this last new moon, that momentum has almost bowled me over—but I and others around me have been rewarded for the efforts we went back and took care of as 2010 turned the corner—which is also approximately when Jozef and I realized it was time for a space of our own. Get it? SPACE to let these new lives take root and grow. And so, as the full moon completes the cycle, that move is being made at the very same time as these new lives are picking up speed and requiring our full attention.
It’s moments like these that really convince me that there is a universal flow, a Higher Power, and that we each have our place within It.
Anyway—before I wax completely philosophical (who has time for THAT right now?—let’s just keep going while the Flow is FLOWING!) let’s move on. My point was for you to consider how things have been going for you in the last couple of weeks, and to notice how or if your life has seen a similar sequence or flow of events. Back to my original question: What’s wrapping up for you as this week begins? What fresh new start have you just made, or what have you just come to recognize really IS your current path? Fun stuff…
But let’s go back to the start of the day and go from there. It’s Monday, March 29, 2010, and we wake up to the Libra moon that kicked in just before dawn on the west coast, at 4:25am. Not long afterward, it meets up with Saturn in Libra, and though Saturn is still in retrograde, it will give a certain flavor of commitment to this full moon, I think. That, or hard work, reaching agreements and so forth. I’ll have to go check out what Astrogrrl has to say about this full moon—I bet there’s more to this particular time around than I’m able to see in my rush these days…
Anyway—at 8:55am Pacific this morning, we’ll be ready to get to work on whatever this day holds. I almost said “leap out of bed” because Mondays are actually Saturday for me most weeks, but lest I offend the masses… Just after lunch, at 1:05pm PST to be fuzzily precise (since I round all times to the nearest 5 minute notch) there will be a small bit of nastiness—and I’ll be on the watch for that one as we’re packing things up around the house. I don’t think that little bump will really be noticeable though—alongside today’s new moon is another truly lovely aspect that I mentioned last week: Venus sextiling Neptune.
This aspect is one of rose-colored glasses, glass more-than-half-full and the hazy glow of Vaseline on the lens that makes aging starlets look dewy in their 40’s. Venus sextile Neptune is not necessarily about falsehoods or fakery, it’s just that it tends to make everything around it glow with a light that is both earthly and ethereal at the same time, and we get to feeling so good when its in effect that we can easily let ourselves believe that things are much MUCH better than they really are. That’s possible, sure—but if you know at the time that this beautiful feeling of experiencing a heavenly sort of perfection is only temporary and not necessarily a reality that will linger afterward and into the future, I see absolutely no reason to give in to the bliss of the moment. After all, the more emotion and joy you put around something, the more joy and blessing is actually created in the world and in your future, one way or another.
So—what a powerful full moon day, huh? Sure, sure—as other astrologers might warn or remind me, today’s Venus-Neptune bliss-out is a little too pretty to be believed. But I fully and wholeheartedly recommend enjoying it as much as you can—and use the full moon energy itself to paint whatever elements of your future in that lovely rosy hue, and unabashedly sprinkle some fairy dust on an image of yourself later in the year—maybe just maybe, some of it will stick…
So that wraps up Monday the 29th…
We’re still in the Libra moon as we wake up on Tuesday the 30th, and despite a little too much Something this morning at 8am Pacific, the lingering good vibes from yesterday can be applied today in a way that offers a particular brand of healing as well. Sure—whatever ancient wound or on-going issue receives the healing today has to come UP first, and that part is obviously not much fun—but this time around, as Venus sextiles Chiron at 2:45pm PST, that issue will get a little dose of antibiotic ointment, and some of the pain associated there will vanish, never to return in the same specific way. Mind you, when Chiron is involved in aspect with planets more significant than the moon, it addresses (or creates, depending) issues or wounds that are fairly large within us or our histories—but I’ve personally noticed a tendency for mild planetary touches like this one to only pull up and/or heal sort of a “section” of that wound. Enh…I’ll take healing in any form, even if it’s only small doses at a time.
Late-night, at 11:30pm PST, there’s a super-small tug-of-war between the Libra moon and Mercury in Aries, so one way or another we’ll experience a little struggle between our hearts and minds, or between our hearts and someone ELSE’s ideas—but this isn’t really a big deal.
On Wednesday March 31st, a couple of pre-dawn moon aspects might go unnoticed (unless like me, you have a vocally-demanding animal who wakes you up early) but East Coasters might find the Starbucks line is too long this morning. There’s a super-tiny moon void from 5:15am till 5:40am PST when the moon moves into Scorpio for the next few days—and that watery energy is a good counterpart to the Taurean energy that we’ll begin to get a taste of today as Venus steps into the sign of the bull at 10:35am Pacific. Strangely enough, we’ll just have had a little temper flare-up 15 minutes earlier, and this planetary sign change at precisely this time could indicate that rather than letting the smoke clear like Aries might, Taurus might just hold on to this new grudge, while smoothing things over on the surface. At any rate, for the next several weeks, we’ll all be enjoying sweets and the sweet life a good bit more, but we’ll pinch our pennies and insist on quality when it comes to purchases or investments related to art or beauty.
Wednesday night at 8:15pm Pacific, Venus makes that irritating inconjunction to Saturn in Libra, and it looks to me like someone’s sudden concern with value & frugality with cause some adjustments to decorating plans we had –I mean YOU had—already agreed upon. (Ha! Wink…) Don’t worry—thanks to a sextile from Mercury to Neptune (like Venus made on Monday) finding the new compromise or words of appeasement will be gloriously easy… This pair of sizeable aspects within 15 minutes of each other tonight indicate that Wednesday is a day of note somehow…
That deeply-sensitive but secretive Scorpio moon continues on Thursday, April 1st, and the rent is due. (I know it’s hard to tell but I’m doing everything I can to keep EVERY metaphor from revolving around my own life.) Mercury, still hot on the heels of Venus, repeats another of her aspects from earlier in the week with a sextile to Chiron this afternoon at 4:15pm PST. This is a great time to process the wound/healing from Tuesday, or to experience still another bit of that process, this time, with the mental understanding of what’s going on, or actually hearing (or saying) “I’m sorry.” With no other aspects occurring today, this conciliatory mood might rule the rest of the day, or your personal aspects could take over entirely from this point.
Friday April 2 starts off with an inspiration that might come a little too early for your taste, and if you don’t get it written down right away, you’re liable to lose it entirely. The moon goes VOC with a square to Neptune at 5:55am Pacific, lasting till 9:55am when it enters Sagittarius. Since Mercury enters Taurus this morning just after 6am, the combination of these two signs’ influence over the weekend should make for some lazy good times. But it’s not quite the weekend yet, is it? There’s definitely still work to be done this morning (after 10am of course) and today’s lunch meeting might be the most productive event of the day, thanks to a sextile from Mercury to Saturn. Of course, the post-lunch food coma might blow the afternoon, but you’ll get another burst of energy at 3:45pm Pacific, don’t worry.
Going out Friday night will be a bit of a mixed bag—but don’t panic, it’s not one of those twisted/creepy sorts of nights, just one where your desires won’t be met. Venus squares Mars at 4:25am Pacific Saturday morning, so late-night Friday into Saturday morning will feel this. Venus in Taurus is already torn between truly enjoying the luxuries of life—excellent food, good wine, sensual environments and so forth versus pinching those pennies and only blowing the wad on the BEST. Mars in Leo is all about ME and making a show. Venus in Taurus wants to be noticed, but it’ll never stand up and say, “Look at ME!” like Mars in Leo will. A great metaphor for this is the gentleman who has saved and saved for a super-special evening of luxuries for his lady, who is too shallow and self-absorbed to appreciate it. *sigh* Then again, perhaps that metaphor has a bit too much Chiron or Pluto in it—depends on how the resentment lingers, maybe. Either way, Venus squaring Mars indicates that there is a deep desire to dive into something rich and indulgent, and that desire is thwarted by circumstances, which were either caused by or result in a flash of anger, most likely.
Saturday April 3 is a lovely day, though—it should be a beautiful day for a picnic, with or without the hike. It’s a warm spring day, I’d expect (unless the Venus-Mars square is hanging out and spoiling the fun) and it’s a day for getting outdoors and maybe even taking a lingering nap under a shady tree. Later this evening, like 7pm Pacific, you might wish you’d accomplished a little more, or consumed a little less lemonade, but everything’s gonna be just fine. Go out and have fun tonight—it’ll be a carefree evening, I think.
Sunday morning April 4, otherwise known as Easter Sunday starts off just fine, and if you celebrate the holiday in any way, whether it’s church, chocolate bunnies, or both, everything should be lovely and fun, keeping in the Sadge moon vibe. But watch out reaching under a bush for that pretty little hidden egg around 1:30pm Pacific—you might come back with more in your hand than you bargained for, thanks to a little moon square to unpredictable Uranus. Easter brunch should be just dreamy otherwise, and the food coma will last all afternoon as a moon void kicks in from 2pm-6:05pm Pacific.
When the moon shifts into Capricorn this evening, just about the first thing it does is square Saturn over in Libra—and this little bump might be when we experience the results of another pair of aspects sitting on top of each other tonight. At 8:15pm Pacific, Venus trines Pluto—and this is one of my favorite aspects because of the deeply satisfying and incredibly passionate events it brings. Talk about Sexy Time….Mmmm! SUPER good stuff. But Mercury squaring Mars just one hour later is a downer hot on the heels. It’s like you have the makeup sex and THEN the argument. Worse still, I’m sure that for a certain segment of the population, these aspects will manifest at the same time, and sort of cancel each other out. Like you’re all hot & bothered (Venus/Mars), but then someone says something (Mercury) that calls up some jealous feelings (Pluto) and it kills the mood. *sigh* My vote is for the super-yummy and then bypassing the second aspect—but that Mercury square Mars doesn’t necessarily mean a fight—it could be a dropped call or some other blockage in information that irks you pretty sharply. Late night Sunday night (or middle of the night for the East Coast) sees another little disturbance, but I bet you just wake up to realize that it’s too warm and you need to turn on the fan. Sweet dreams follow…
Monday morning April 5th starts off just fine—we’re in a very driven and industrious Capricorn moon, and we’re pretty happy about what we’re getting done (it’s a good investment of time), and a trine from Mercury to Pluto is overlooking all today. I mean it—some good stuff happens in business today, and it’ll feel really good…
That makes sense, too, because there are some big planetary moves in the first full week of April…but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

Tue, 23 March 2010
Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Monday, March 22, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… ), but it did prompt me to let you folks know—while I may be late with or (eek!) miss the occasional podcast, and while yes, the paying gigs have been plentiful and back-to-back since New Year’s so it’s been increasingly harder for me to crank them out each week—I am NOT going away. I’ve mentioned in the past that I have goals for It’s Planetary, and those goals are why I make the meager efforts that I do at present, with the daily updates and these weekly podcasts. Yes, eventually, I might just follow through and actually turn this into a business, but for the time being, it’s just a “sideline” of sorts that happens to be a passion of mine, and my intention for now is NOT focused on seeing a profit from this. The occasional reading pays for the tiny fees I have to pay here and there, and Barb orders at least two reports a month, so there’s a few bottles of cheap wine paid to Jozef, my ever-devoted sound producer. (Thanks, Barb! I adore you!) Until or unless I decide that I am genuinely and completely abandoning those larger goals, I will be here doing the podcast and updates on as regular a schedule as this Heather Burdette (who is notoriously off-schedule) can maintain.
With that in mind, I want to thank all of you who listen to or read these podcasts on a regular basis. I can see the number of audio downloads I have each week, and I can tell that there is a super-tiny but core group of you out there who are paying attention. I know some of your names and faces from Facebook or Twitter, and I think of ALL of you when I get close to the deadline and sense that I’m not gonna make it. I remember how I felt back when I was first paying attention to horoscopes and astrology 14 or 15 years ago, and how some of my favorite columnists would occasionally let me down by taking a day off without having prepared ahead of time, or just shutting down for the holidays. I wish I could be as prepared ahead of time as Lance of Skywatch astrology is—he’s got it down to a science. But he’s also done this as his full-time gig for 30 years or so… I am a full-time freelance actor, model and performer. I’m not even a one-word title within my industry—I am a multifaceted and multitalented Aquarian whose resume is a pure example of Jack of All Trades. I had long-running jobs in various shows for years and years here in Las Vegas, but for the last two years, I’ve been freelancing for tradeshows, corporate events, the occasional voice-over or commercial, and doing whatever meager and tolerable on-call positions I can to tide me over between the big-money gigs, including a very NOT-tolerable stint as a private eye last fall. Remember the depressed-sounding streak of ‘casts? Yeah…Anyway, given the state of this economy for the last two years, I think it’s pretty impressive that I’ve been able to sustain myself this way. Being married and living as roommates has helped immensely of course—but I’ve been lucky, been able to make sacrifices and to sustain my freedom as a result. I’m incredibly fortunate and I don’t take a whit of it for granted. But as I explained to Jonas today on the Wall, I’ve been blessed with a lot of work since the beginning of this year, and since Mars went direct, things are beginning to break through to the next level in my new pseudo-career, and well-- I have to make hay while the sun shines. Being a freelancer, I must capitalize on periods of flush all I can, because I know when the fields go fallow, and I don’t want it to get as dark from my personal perspective as it did last year at that time. As a freelancer, any “free” time I have is spent marketing, following up with people, spending two hours filling out a detailed professional profile on yet another “national” agency website, sending “hey! Look what I’ve been up to!” emails complete with photos to my existing agents, and so on. And the rest of my “free time” is divided between just being jello, hanging out with Jozef, or working on It’s Planetary. So I’m busy lately. Very busy, some weeks. But some other circumstances in my life are about to change, so some weeks, I’ll have a lot more “free” time (in reality: time that I’m free but not able to hang out with Jozef) so I anticipate that I’ll get back to reading and writing about astrology more often, to participating in the online community (and by that I generally mean Twitter, but I look forward to spending some time over at www.astrocreepsandtarotfreaks.com , too) and maybe, just maybe beginning to move forward with my plans for It’s Planetary. In the meantime, and as I always do in my heart, I thank YOU dear listeners and readers, for your attention and time, for your devotion, and for your patience. To all those who’ve taken a moment here or there to comment on the It’s Planetary Facebook page, to the growing list of “regulars” on my Wall, Seventh Labyrinth and Calene, especially—thank you so much. Interacting with all of you is the vitamin-juice that keeps me going. I love your comments, even when they’re just to each other! Kat, Jan, Heather2 and Suzi, I look forward to eventually picking up where we left off with fantastic, star-related (and sometimes not) dialogs. Kristen, you’d better let me know the instant you land in California. Jaysen & Jonas—look, I managed to get it out again this week! With gratitude to both of you for reminding me that people are listening and waiting for me. And Jaysen, I never got an email--should I check my spam filter? To all of you—thank you. I’ll hang in if you will! Ha! Okay—so where were we? Oh yeah—Thursday the 25th, and welcome to it. We’ll wake up in that Leo moon that kicked in overnight, and for at least the morning hopefully, things are nice and rosy in that usual Leo way. By afternoon I’d say (or to be more honest, anytime in the last 24 hours) we’ll start feeling the nasty intensity of the Sun-Pluto square that hits tonight at 8:45pm PST. Much like the brain-eating-itself mental death spiral brought about by Mercury squaring Pluto just last weekend, this can be pretty harsh, and feel absolutely dire. In most cases, it isn’t. “It’s all in my head, it’ll pass.” And repeat. A shiny Leo moon is with us again as we wake up on Friday the 26th, and barring any fallout from that nasty square last night, today should be pretty nice. Pretty trines (good vibes and good luck) begin and end the traditional work day on the west coast, and pepper the east coast for lunch and evening cocktails. An unexpected adjustment at 11:20pm PST should be fairly minor, but confusion and a moon void reign from midnight till 4am Saturday. Saturday’s energy shifts into that ready-to-clean-out-the-garage mode as we wake up to a Virgo vibe—don’t worry—you’ll WANT to get busy, trust me! A minor kerfuffle at 3:20pm says that there are too many chiefs organizing the closet or whatever, but it’s a very minor skirmish and skies are clear for the rest of the day… Sunday is another busy Virgo moon day—great for running errands and getting stuff done and in a much more productive-feeling way than during a moon void, I promise. Does that mean Heather will get the podcast done on time next week? Quite probably so, I’d predict! (But we’ll see what kind of “busy” I wind up being that day, won’t we?) Another minor surprise just before midnight Pacific, and we’re in yet another moon void kicked off by dreamy and confusing Neptune at 12:35am through 4:20am Monday morning. And what a lovely Monday morning it is—a Libra moon to start the week off harmoniously, with each of us ready to come to compromises and to balance our lives with others while retaining our individuality. You guessed it, it’s the full moon today, Monday March 29, and while this full moon definitely aggravates the on-going Saturn-Pluto square (so how do today’s wrap-ups relate to the bigger picture in terms of what you’re refusing to give way on, or being forced to let go of against your will?) this full moon is one of a pair of beautiful couples on today’s celestial dance floor, and the other one is even prettier: Venus is sending a beautiful kiss to Neptune, who spins the lady around and around and around until everything is a candlelit blur. Oh yes—it’s a lovely, lovely day, and a lovely, lovely feeling. Enjoy it, and finish up those projects and plans you set in motion two weeks ago—just know that all the glitter and shine is only skin deep. Nothing wrong with having pretty skin though, is there? So—some mid-week nastiness is only temporary and we’ll get through it, and with next week starting off so beautifully, we clearly have something very sparkly to look forward to in our individual futures. That sparkly feeling might just last into next week, too…but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week… ________________________________________________________________ Don’t forget to drop me a line at itsplanetary@gmail.com to order a birth, transit, Solar Return, or relationship report, or to set up your in-depth personal reading! My apologies gang, for chiming in a couple days late this week—I’d pretty much put money on my NOT being the only one who had an *ahem* eventful weekend. Some car trouble, and pending stressors left and right added up to full-out overwhelm and a darn-near vegetative state on my part by Sunday night, and this week kicked off with a couple of really great gigs that pulled my full attention. Again, I’m sure that I’m not the only one in this position, as the planetary situation fully reflects—and I also hope I’m not the only one who’s actually emerging pretty much okay from everything—SO far.
This week’s new moon (a couple of days ago on Monday) was a pretty neat event, I think—it was conjunct Mercury and Uranus, as they also met up in Pisces, forming a stellium (three or more planets in a sign). I have a stellium in my chart—Jupiter, Neptune and Mars all on top of each other in Sagittarius—so any babies born at the start of this week are extra-blessed (and that goes for those who celebrated birthdays at the start of this week as well—at least for the year ahead. Happy Solar Return, Aunt Michele!) I was pretty fascinated to see what this new moon would kick off—I mean, I knew that Mars had just gone direct, so we’d finally begin to see actions getting into gear—what I DIDN’T expect was all the car trouble and earthquakes—though I should have. Being an Aquarius, and despite how I often refer to Uranus as “gender-neutral” in the “could be good, could be bad” sense—I try to focus on the good elements it brings: brilliant and sudden flashes of inspiration, or wonderful surprises. Naturally though, not all surprises are wonderful, are they? And my 6’3” vehicle breaking down in a 6’9” clearance parking garage, or a friend’s car breaking down in the middle of an intersection on Monday are good examples of Mercury and Uranus meeting up and having less-than-pleasant things to discuss. But here’s one reason I was curious to see how this new moon would play out: all of this, the Mercury-Uranus conjunction and the new moon right on top of it—all of this was in Pisces, the connection to the divine. The thinnest veil between this reality and the next, so it’s almost as though all you have to do is gently puff in the direction you want to go, and bingo: there you are.
As Jozef and I were looking at cars online while mine sat in the parking garage on the Strip overnight, fate as-yet unknown, I felt myself genuinely not wanting a new car right now. I like MY car—it fits me very well, and I’m not ready to part with it yet. I’d love a grasshopper-green Kia Soul (which would also fit me very well) but I can wait a few years, thanks. And despite an escalation in the emotional drama the following morning (thanks to a moon-void which made us both spit out useless ideas and solutions) everything turned out just fine. The covered-by-insurance towtruck WAS able to get it out of the garage, and the shop that sorta caused the breakdown made the super-minor repair for free. Fortunately, I HADN’T trashed the transmission in the meantime (which I might have, had I driven home instead of meeting Jozef for a show)—and aside from major stress for about 16 hours, it’s almost as though the whole thing never happened. That’s right—we didn’t spend a dime on ANYTHING, though we went to bed making all sorts of financial adjustments in our minds. Oh, the other stressors that contributed to the tension that day are still in place, but they’re coming up for handling one-by-one and so far, so good.
Oh—and that friend whose car broke down in the middle of an intersection the day after mine? Turns out that she had a chance to buy a new car last fall and decided not to. She actually said to me, “I thought about it, and decided I should just drive this one until it runs into the ground.” That cracked me up, as did the beautiful synchronicity of the universe to let her deliberate creation come about on this new moon. She doesn’t know it yet, but I’m pretty certain she’ll have found exactly the right car and situation for her by the full moon on the 29th, and you can bet I’m gonna check in.
Other new moon stuff happened for me as well this past weekend and Monday—things that are actually only coincidentally scheduled to complete on the full moon—the car was just the beginning. But my point in going over all of this is to point out how just visualizing—even just a passing thought or feeling—is so powerful right now. I mean, it always is, but we’re able to SEE the connections more clearly right now, thanks to a very Aquarian/Uranian meeting in boundaries-impaired Pisces. I rather suspect a great number of Californians had at least fleeting realizations that it’s been a good long time since they’ve had an earthquake when we were all watching the on-going devastation in Chile—and bang, there you go. Here’s a little reminder or two to let you know that a) the Universe is listening and b) Uranus always loves to shake things up—sometimes literally. But all is well there, too—small quakes with little or no damage. And I’ll resist the urge to tack the dramatic “THIS time” at the end of that paragraph, focusing my attention instead on current and future stability and flexibility as we move forward (finally) with this potentially-dramatic year.
All in all, and after a great deal of reflection over this new moon and the coming year, I think FDR truly said it best: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” And this quote, from his first inaugural address in the midst of the Great Depression, is a theme we need to not only understand but INTEGRATE and CLING TO as we move forward this year. Don’t let yourself be hijacked by your own fears. More on this in the months to come…
Anyway—enough about this new moon that’s just passed—I’ll bring it up again later, I’m sure—there are at least two more things I’m expecting “completion” on, at the end of this month or next month, when Mars crosses over its exact opposition point to my 7th house Sun.
So—for what’s left of THIS week, it’s Wednesday, March 17, 2010, and we’re in an Aries moon that started late Monday night. Venus is in Aries now too, and this morning, Mercury joins the impulse-ridden party, so as much as those who missed this podcast might’ve wanted to hear it, something tells me the attention-window is closed. Like I said, I KNOW I’m not the only one for whom the pace of life has suddenly picked up (and frankly, it was already going surprisingly well) and with newly-Aries Mercury trining just-got-going-again Mars at the start of Leo—we’re all room-a-zooming indeed. Today could bring news, information, or contact from that person who’s been nebulous or invisible lately, and it looks like the news will be good, particularly if it’s related to recognizing your talents in any way. It’s a Rockstar kind of day, and we’ll all be walking with a little more swagger in our step, I think. I’ll warn here though to mind your tongue as you go thinking you’re the hero about to go in for the stage dive—Mercury in Aries is a CLASSIC hoof-in-mouth scenario, and while it might fly today, someone is very likely to go away remembering you as ego-centric and self-absorbed.
A pre-dawn kiss to Neptune sends the Aries moon VOC on Tuesday morning the 18th, and it’ll stay that way until a sensible 9:30am when it moves into much more reasonable and definitely slower-moving Taurus. Of course, that naturally sets off some tempers as we’ve JUST gotten things moving again, and the general vibe wants us to slow down again this morning. You’ll see the first flare-up at 10:45am Pacific, and you’ll still be making compromises and adjustments (and perhaps trying to clarify that self-absorbed reputation) come lunchtime. But all is well by post-dinnertime Tuesday night, and the proper transitions are smoothly underway, sans resistance.
Friday the 19th of March is a slightly different story, though. Oh, it starts off just fine, in a nice relaxed (but methodical) pace with the Taurus moon, and a kiss to Jupiter in Pisces just before 1pm PST puts us all in a happy place—but ONLY if we haven’t fallen prey to the super-nasty square between Mercury and Pluto that’s at a full boil by this afternoon at the latest. There are lots of tough aspects out there, but this one is truly among my least favorite. As an Aquarian, I spend a lot of time in my head, and Mercury squaring Pluto is like a bunch of terrorists moving in. Remember what I said about “the only thing we have to fear…?” THIS is one of those times when that becomes almost impossible to remember. Mercury squaring Pluto makes your brain start to dive in a death-spiral, eating itself up over and over and over again with worst-case based thinking and your craziest fears playing on the Big Screen in your mind as though they were God-honest fact. THIS is one of those aspects that keeps me writing the podcast, so I can throw out the life-preserver ahead of time. I can’t save you from going through it, but if you can just hang on to that little ring of hope, “It’s all in my head, it’ll pass, it’s all in my head, it’ll pass…”
Of course, for some of us, Mercury’s part of this ghoulish little dance could play out in other ways—people could be verbally cruel, the news you absolutely did NOT want to get could come in, particularly twisted accidents on the freeway, and so forth. But you don’t need me to add to your fears, so enough on that. If those are some of my options (and they are) I would rather have a day of brain-eating, thank you. I know where my life preserver is. But if you’ve got plans to be out and about on Friday, I’ll warn you to deliberately wrap a bubble of protection around yourself and your mates that night, and to steer well clear of dark alleys. No shortcuts or experiments in nightlife when Mercury squares Pluto at 1:15am Pacific, Saturday morning.
As of sunrise on Saturday the 20th, the mood should already be beginning to lighten from the night before. The Sun joins the party in Aries this morning at 10:30am PST, officially bringing us into Spring, Spring, Spring, and if the Taurus moon will let us leave our soft beds this morning, I think that’s just what we’ll all feel like doing today. A square from that moon to Neptune at 12:40pm Pacific says if we’ve sprung out of bed to enjoy this day, lunchtime might just put us down for a nap (how typical of young lambs…) That little square kicks off a moon void till 5:30pm west-coast time, but after that, we’ll be so upbeat, with energy to spare and plenty of Gemini-moon socializing to do. Saturday evening should be lots of lighthearted fun, and we’ll definitely be up for that after the end of this week…
Compounding the fun Saturday night is a lovely aspect from the Sun in Aries to Mars Sunday morning at 10:55am PST. This is one Sunday morning that you won’t mind hearing the neighbor’s lawn mower—in fact, you’ll hear it and think, “YEAH! It’s Spring!!” The mood could get a little heavier as the day goes on—again, Aries is (unintentionally) sometimes brutish and self-focused, and that’s not going to sit well with some folks or with some relationships. It won’t even be sundown yet, but someone might want to “seriously talk about this” or give you the ice-cold shoulder for ignoring their needs, too.
Mind you don’t have that third glass of wine Sunday night—it’ll be one too many, but a kiss to Venus at 2:55am Pacific means you’re having good dreams tonight, either way. BTW, that kiss to Venus lands at 11am for those in the UK, so there you go, Jackie—it’s a lovely morning in England!
Moving on to Monday the 22nd back here in the States, that Gemini moon is still with us as we start the week, and that’s pretty good for getting those phone calls, texts, and emails in and out all day today. There’s a small and probably less-than-pleasant surprise this evening at 5:50pm Pacific, so watch yourself during rush hour tonight. With all the Aries energy in the sky and a sometimes-too-fast Gemini moon still in charge, that could be a bad mix and let a small aspect like this one cause more damage than it should. But a trine to Neptune at 6:50pm tells me YOU made it home alright, and better yet, there were good smells coming from the kitchen, your favorite beer leftover in the fridge, or your favorite show all saved up on the DVR. That trine kicks off a moon void that lasts until the moon shifts into Cancer at 11:15pm Pacific, but in the midst of the VOC is an aspect I haven’t even mentioned up till now, but that has actually been affecting us for this entire podcast week. Monday March 22, Mars in Leo sextiles Saturn in Libra. Sextile is the aspect I call a kiss, after one of my favorite astrologers, Lance of SkywatchAstrology.com. In other words, for the entire stretch of time that this podcast covers, beginning to end, we’re under this little lovely, and it is a pretty nice one indeed.
Mars—action, passion, drive, energy—finally moving forward again in generous and magnanimous Leo, giving a kiss to commitment-minded and compromise-enabled Saturn in Libra. Energy is positively directed toward our relationships and partnerships, commitments are made and steps taken toward cementing them, and so forth. Maybe it’s even something as simple as finally booking some Business Time with that little hottie you’ve been courting (like Saturday night, maybe?) or scoring that meeting on Monday with toward that fabulous B2B deal. Having this bit of happiness hanging out in the sky is a bit of help toward that temporary insanity we’ll all hit on Friday, adding a little buoyancy to our mental life preservers. And no, I don’t think the timing of the sextile’s exact point—during the moon void on Monday evening—is of concern. Sort of like face cards trump number cards, aspects between big planets trump a moon void. I just don’t think the thing that reflects the sextile will occur during this short window on Monday evening March 22, but as I said before, sometime over the weekend, or even toward the end of this week. If there’s any deal you’ve been trying to put together, put some extra energy on it now, and watch it play out…
There’s another nasty little bump in the week that follows…but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

In the spirit of Venus newly in “go go GO!” Aries, let’s just dive right in! As we wake up Monday morning March 8, we definitely ARE ready to go go go—but we’ll have to wait just a couple more days to really get into the flow with that “make it happen” vibe, and that’s likely to slam on the brakes this morning in a way that rubs you the wrong way, but we’re in a moon void till 9:15am Pacific, so these bumps won’t necessarily have any lasting results. Once the moon shifts into Capricorn at 9:15, we’re all about business, but somehow, our calculated approach to things today will cross paths with our desire to make things happen immediately, as well as the compromises required in order to keep balance in all of our various relationships. Venus in Aries is opposing Saturn in Libra in the early morning hours of Tuesday morning, and the Capricorn moon aggravates this setup today, bringing it squarely into our attention. Generally speaking, this opposition implies that our recently renewed and self-oriented drive is in a tug-of-war with the need to be fair and to find balance. As the image suggests, we’ll veer between these two poles at times throughout the day, but the overall result will be a fairly serious mood. This falls in line with Mars coming to its dead standstill as it prepares to return to direct motion this week—we’re in planning mode, even though Venus in Aries is ready to take action. Hold off on those power moves for a couple of days, but get into position to spring…
Tuesday March 9, we’re still in the busy and industrious Capricorn moon, but that business will be more in rhythm with the universal flow today, as the moon kisses Jupiter and Mercury this morning and afternoon. It’s a great combination for getting plans made, but for having those plans actually be in tune with the direction of your life right now. In fact, it’s a fantastic day for wrapping up your actions from the last few months, which has most likely been about going back to tackle creative or publicity-related projects. Since December, we’ve had energy to put toward things that were overlooked in the lead-up to the holidays last fall—but now it’s time to put those projects to rest and to move forward on the present and future. Tuesday is fantastic for handling those remaining details and getting ready to put those projects out for public view. And again, as much as you might be craving motion and action on new projects, Mars really is at a dead stop today, so put that energy where it wants to go instead of forcing your way in the door right now. If you should find your physical energy and stamina at a full stop (like I do right now after a lot of activity lately) go ahead and follow the planets and take a rest without berating yourself. Full stop is what you need sometimes, especially before you shift directions.
And finally—Wednesday March 10, Mars in Leo reaches full station aka “full stop” and begins to move forward in the sky again. Naturally, it will take a few weeks before we’re at full speed, so don’t worry if you’re not charging out of the gate on new stuff—it’ll get there, don’t worry. We’re still in that Capricorn moon today with Mars at full stop, so like yesterday, today can be a blend of wrapping up the business on the old and preparing to move forward with the new. A tiny pleasant surprise or inspiration pops in at 2pm Pacific, before sending the moon into a VOC period for the remainder of the afternoon, and most of the evening. Clean house, organize files, backup your hard drive, or just plain take a nap—“no consequences, no results” during a moon void—it’s best for chores and mundane activities. When the moon shifts into Aquarius at 9:45pm Pacific, late-nighters like me can catch up on Twitter and miscellaneous multi-tasking. There could be a small bump at 10:20pm PST, when someone would rather have your attention focused on them individually, or when you get so busy with your social networking media of choice that you can’t switch off and go to sleep, and little bump could be made a bit more intense thanks to a square between Venus and Pluto tomorrow morning (that most west-coasters will feel Wednesday night.) Usually when Venus squares Pluto, the first thing I think of is “unrequited love.” There’s a great deal of deeply sexual intensity in this pairing, but thanks to the square aspect, that passion doesn’t play out smoothly—it indicates a nearly-overwhelming desire that can’t find fulfillment, or that takes on a very lusty tone as opposed to a romantic one. This isn’t to say that hook-ups can’t happen with this aspect—they most certainly can. But they’re likely to be more about a sexual appetite (or even depravity) than about love.
For east-coasters, this intensity could come into play Wednesday night as well, but will still be in effect through lunchtime on Thursday March 11. Some Pacific-coasters will still felt it Thursday morning as well, since the Venus-Pluto square is exact at 9:35am PST, and that, coupled with a sextile from the Aquarius moon to Venus in Leo at 8:15am, means that more than a few of us could wake up to some passionate activity that leaves us with a smile on our face for the rest of the day.
Strangely enough, these aspects involving Venus Thursday morning are the last ones affecting the general population until very early Saturday morning. That’s right—there are NO moon aspects affecting either coast all day on Friday the 12th, so be sure to skip over to astro.com to check out your personal aspects that day. Putting in your birthdate and time will generate aspects that are affecting YOU, very specifically—and it’s free. (If you read a pre-written horoscope column, be sure to read for your RISING sign AND your Sun sign.) About the only generalized thing I can report for everyone on Friday is more of the Aquarian moon vibe. Plenty of socializing, multi-tasking, brilliant inspirations and insights, and a certain inability to connect quite as deeply as we’d like to.
So—skipping over to Saturday March 13: The Aquarius moon does finally tap into the universal subconscious at 5am Pacific Saturday morning, but that will keep us in a dreamy state (whether we’re awake or not) through the moon void that follows and lasts until 10:45am. Sleep in on Saturday, and if you wake up, try having what I call a “lie-in”—stay in bed and read, or just snuggle with yourself or a significant other and think healing thoughts. That will be a particularly good set-up for today, because once the moon dips into Pisces at 10:45am, we’ll be on a rather jagged and mixed-up wavelength until tonight. Soon after the moon shifts and we feel the moon void lift, we’ll be ready to end our lie-in and to leap out of bed and get going. Thing is, our little brain-fog is probably still hanging around, so the path isn’t exactly clear and straight. It could just as easily be that we’ve gotten so dreamy about a friend or partner that we jump up, ready to receive some attention—but THAT person’s in a brain-fog, unable to focus on anything, let alone you. Try to make your peace with that, and just accept it—but something comes up again at 2:35pm Pacific and it looks like we’re still just too foggy to compromise. It’s a low-energy day, much as we might prefer that it not be, so again, just try to go with the flow. Tonight at 9:20pm PST, the Pisces moon kisses Pluto in Capricorn, and we finally clear up enough to understand that “everything is exactly as it should be, and everything will be okay.”
Saturday night is also the long-awaited Daylight Savings Time, and a conjunction between the Sun & Mercury Sunday morning, March 14 makes it clear that we’ll all be on top of changing our clocks and fire alarm batteries—even if it happens sometime on Sunday instead of Saturday night…
This Sunday is a great day to get to church though, if you’re a church-goer. One way or another, there is an extra-clear message that is ready to come through to each of us right now, and it is heavenly-based or direct from Source. Whether it’s an actual service, a meditation session, or even meditative walk in the park, turn on your mind, close your mouth, and LISTEN. For once, the message from above will communicate very clearly, coming through as actual thoughts or words instead of just feeling. But the message is good, and we’ll be FEELING good as of 2:15pm Pacific. We might even call it a blissful day, and unless your personal aspects indicate otherwise, that bliss will stick with us through the evening and into the night.
Monday morning March 15 dawns still in that Pisces moon, and this afternoon at 2pm, it meets the Sun to form a conjunction, otherwise known as a New Moon. Shortly thereafter, you might get another message out of the blue, or surprise yourself with a brilliant idea or sudden awareness/burst of clarity. This new moon is tied up with a conjunction between Mercury and Uranus this week, all occurring in Pisces of course—so man oh man are we connected to each other right now, and supremely positioned to make a fresh start, break free of old thought patterns, and to dazzle ourselves and each other with clever wit that tells the truth, but in a kindly funny way. Frankly, this new moon and the Mercury-Uranus energy will be in effect for the first several days of this week, but Sunday the 14th & Monday the 15th are so very powerful for setting this month’s new intentions.
Keep those intentions in mind as you set about enjoying the extended daylight hours starting now, and bring that renewed spring energy into your life in so many different ways—but most of all, set your internal sights on a spiritual renewal. This new moon is all about exactly that, and we’ll need that optimism as early as the end of this week when we meet up with Saturn and Pluto in some tough face-offs…
…but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

(Not an audio podcast. I guess I'm branching out.)
My brain's imploding. After peripherally talking/thinking about the bunch-up of planets in Pisces (universal connection/the collective subconscious/Source) for a week or two, I wind up in a conversation today discussing these same ideas in a mini-reading. No big deal. I talk about these sorts of things all the time. But in the last few weeks, while we're in this vibe, I figure I have more access to understanding these concepts, so I've unconsciously been letting it simmer on the back burner of my mind. I often get answers this way--eventually.
So ALSO today I'm explaining Twitter to someone, using a (borrowed) analogy of it as a river--you toss something in and it gets swept downstream almost instantly, only visible to those who happen to be on the banks as it passes by in the current. Back to that mini-reading and a subsequent discussion/defense of astrology to another "new age-y" person who dislikes the idea that "this day is bad" etc. I explained that my approach to astrology isn't so much about naming good or bad days--I do that, like all astrologers do, because I have to have a shorthand way to communicate. With the right audience and opportunity however, I'm happy to explain more fully that in my personal "voyage of discovery" I've come to the shaky opinion that while yes, God is what we are all made of and are a part of, this individual existence known as Heather has built-in limitations (that ideally I overcome in the process of Life.) While I am a powerful Creator whose every thought defines my personal reality, I am still part of a larger existence, a larger "I Am," and that larger existence--that Source--has its own rhythm and flow that supersedes any and all goals I might be creating and moving toward. I guess I still had the "river" thing in the back of my head, because I applied that image to this universal flow. For me, Astrology is the map of that river, and rather than serving to say "this day is bad" it says (when given time and opportunity) "this day is not ideal for this type of activity but it's GREAT for THIS." Don't spend your day digging a trench to re-route the river, just jump in and see where it takes you. Odds are good it's toward your own creations, one way or another.
In other words, rather than resisting the universal flow of which we are all a part, or removing you from your power as Creator, it offers the Creator the ability to make the best use of the flow we ALL find ourselves in.
Central to this belief is the perception that something is still larger than the individual Me, which tends to go against the modern-day guru's view that I am THE Creator. I've really been walking the fence on this one for years, and given my belief in astrology, I'm sure you can see why. If I am THE Creator (singular, all-powerful entity) then astrology has no home in my system, as it gives that power right away again--or so it appears. I disagree. I am still VERY much the Creator of my reality, and my future--but from my earliest practical lessons in philosophy or anything approaching it, I was taught that my perception of reality is different (perhaps) than yours, and that EACH of us is creating our own realities. Sure--you may be part of my creation, and I may be part of yours, but we still exist in this dimension as unique individuals; separate Creators. To expand this out to the energy of each and every Thing on the planet (as well as the space between Things) --then we sort of have to acknowledge that all this energy would have to create a collective energy. And that energy would probably have a specific flow to it--like the river I mentioned at the start. (Just as an aside, I guess linear time would function as that flow, wouldn't it?)
Then I get home and Jozef switches on the TV after we record this week's podcast. It's the Discovery Channel, in the middle of some Planet Earth style-show, and the first thing we see is a literal swarm of fish--anchovies-- (Pisces much?). Not a school--a SWARM. From that we move on to these flies on the coast of some naturally-toxic lake somewhere in California--these flies function in swarms as well. Then to the bats that live under the Congress Ave bridge in Austin --the narrator made a reference I'll have to research to an "individual mind" AND a "swarm mind." That threw me for a loop. Suddenly, probably due to the very fluid movement of each swarm as it moved as a singular entity, my brain made a connection between my river analogy and "swarm mind" and I had reason to wonder if I was meant to get a message here. Am I just part of a swarm? A hive mind? OMG--am I really just a Borg? Playing out my individual destiny but unconsciously fulfilling a larger destiny as a cog within the Collective? And does it matter if I am? Does it change my existence in any way? Or is my belief in a Larger Collective Source the problem/cause somehow? Should I rethink this belief? I mean, it's not even a very solid one anyway! And as an Aquarian, I'm sort of automatically resistant to the idea that I'm just a cog in a machine--that's not my vision of Source. But those swarms...they must made SENSE in a way I can't quite define.
I just think it's funny that all of this came together this way, when I've been cooking on it for a while deliberately--to take advantage of the "thinner veil" between us and Source right now.
What do you think? ______________________________________________________________

Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Monday, March 1, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… (Audio podcast freeiTunes download at http://tinyurl.com/itsplanetary-itunes2 Direct download Podcast at http://itsplanetary.libsyn.com/ ) Thank you so much for tuning in. Remember that anytime is a great time to order a personal transit report, a natal birth chart report, a Solar Return or a relationship report! These reports are very reasonably priced, and provide an enormous amount of highly personalized information. If you’d like to get more in-depth insight, I’m also available for personal readings by phone, Skype or email, or in person for those who live in Las Vegas. There’s a coupon code, valid for $10 off the price of personal readings, at the end of the podcast so stay tuned! Well, coming off this weekend’s full moon, I hardly know what to say—it was a particularly stressful one for me for some reason, but clearly the conjunction with Jupiter worked out beautifully for some folks out there. If nothing else, we should be feeling hope & optimism right now…I worked on stilts at an enormous & spectacular event benefiting brain research, and apparently, it raised $27 million dollars. I just find myself reeling from the opposition part of the full moon—the cost of glossing over details and trying to “go with the flow” when that flow is moving just a little too fast to manage. And two Pacific Rim earthquakes in one day? What the---? Stop by www.green-summit.org for another Heather’s opinion on that. I’m not exactly stumped on the earthquakes, astrologically-speaking, but I think I’ll bite my tongue on this for now, in the interest of those who are on the Hope & Optimism page. The good side (I think) of the massive earthquakes that hit off the coast of Okinawa and in Chile over the weekend, is that clearly prayer works—as all of the island countries in the Pacific seem to have been spared the expected tsunamis afterward. I’ll take that positive message away from all this earth-shaking, and I’ll remind you that perhaps you should take some of that powerful prayer energy and project it forward into the late summer. Wrap a nice bubble of lightness and joy around yourself, your loved ones, and even the whole world for that time….and consider it the Pisces version of money in the bank. Today starts off with the busy Virgo moon that just went full with a conjunction to Jupiter over the weekend, but I don’t think we’ll be getting too much done as we start off the new week. First things first, Mercury slides into Pisces this morning, the sign of its decline—since of course Mercury is the planet of thoughts, words, descriptions, nouns & verbs, and punctuation, and Pisces is all about the lack of definition, lack of words or sentence-based thoughts. Pisces is feeling, sensing, knowing, misty water-colored memories that haven’t taken story form yet. You know when you’re on the verge of falling asleep—when you’re dozing in that in-between place where your body has already begun to take on the paralysis of sleep but your mind is still semi-conscious of the immediate environment, even as you already see the stuff of dreams, and that world begins to close around you in its dim fog…right before you fall completely into that world—you know that place? THAT’s Pisces. And you can see how inadequately I was able to put words to that concept, huh? Well, get on board, because even if you are normally the most verbally-inclined person in your bubble, you’ll suddenly find yourself rather at a loss for words for the next few weeks. (It’ll be interesting to see how well I manage to crank out the podcasts during this sweep, huh?) Oh yeah—we’ll all find ourselves saying “You know?” a lot more—talking with our hands in a desperate attempt to convey our foggy meaning, and just drifting off mid-sentence much more than usual. There are PLENTY of bonuses to this time though, as Mercury joins the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus in this dreamy sign. Maybe you’ve already noticed that you’re picking up on others’ thoughts and feelings all the time lately (for better or worse), and that you’re picking up on the energy or vibe of anyplace you find yourself these days, or that noisy environments are particularly unsettling for you. But maybe you’ve also noticed that when you think of someone far away, you can almost feel them as though they were right here with you. Mm-hm. That’s all this Pisces. Mercury only joins the foggy trip until March 17, when it skips ahead into Aries, gaining speed in the coming weeks… Anyway, back to this Monday morning, March 1, we can look for the action to start and stop at 9:35am, when the moon opposes Uranus, dropping a surprise or a small-but-brilliant flash of inspiration on us before it turns void of course until 4:30pm Pacific. Based on a series of inconjunctions within those hours that includes a particularly awkward one between Mercury and Mars, it looks like we could very well spend the day trying (unsuccessfully?) to adequately capture that morning inspiration, cleaning up, making up, and/or recovering from the weekend. And now that I’ve said that and have already experienced insomnia over some email that needs to be written, I guess I can predict the mess I’ll be trying to wrap up on Monday—at least in my head. Think about it—what stressful communication do you need to delicately handle right now? It’ll be on your mind Monday, whether or not you actually get it worked out. When the moon moves into Libra at 4:30pm PST, the mood will shift from one of protracted details to a bit more balance, which I’m sure we’ll all be ready for by then. This energy sits better with Mars, giving a little burst of positive drive at 5:45pm, but it tweaks Mercury again almost immediately, so I guess that little burst steps on someone’s toes. We might find some area of compromise tonight at 9pm, but it might just be that we’re just so tired from all the watery energy and the awkward bits left over from earlier today and the weekend that we call it an early night. Just as well. If you were looking for brighter day on Tuesday March 2, well—I’m always for optimism and the power of positive intention. In fact, the better off you are able to start your intentions, the better off you just might stay. We’re still in a Libra moon today, promoting harmony, balance, and the appreciation of beauty—but that moon hits more of those awkward inconjunctions today, with Jupiter & the Sun in Pisces. Coupled with another inconjunct from Mercury in Pisces to Saturn in Libra (echoing the moon’s touches today but in reverse), Libra and Pisces seem to be running into each other and doing that silly little dance we do when two people are each trying to get out of the other’s way. In other words, we’re probably aiming to be helpful and polite, and even to repair whatever balance has recently come undone, but the other party is working hard at the same thing, and it turns out that no one’s listening to each other. I guess that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, though… I should probably interject here a reminder that I’m personally coming off a very waterlogged full moon weekend as I write this podcast—and despite the meeting of that full moon with Jupiter (my favorite planet), I learned some lessons that unfortunately, it looks like I won’t be able to properly address and correct, due to all this Pisces energy (which I also normally love & embrace) and the Mercury awkwardness at the start of the week. I find that incredibly frustrating, so if that’s coming through in my vibe for this cast, I apologize. Ha! And this paragraph is exactly the kind of thing I’m talking about for the start of this week. I see potential for a great many of us to be mildly out of sorts and frankly feeling confused, and apologizing all over the place as we try to find our way back to clear thinking. Heh! Good luck to all of us… Moving on to Wednesday March 3rd, that Libra moon is still with us—which, by the way, means it’s just as possible that you’ll have a perfectly PLEASANT start to your week—and this morning just before lunchtime on the West Coast could see a little preview or possibly the actual view of yet another Piscean surprise for all of us. Whether that truly is a thing of beauty will as always be in the eye of the beholder, but with Venus meeting up with Uranus today in the sign of the fishes, absolutely anything is possible, including everything from a free pedicure, pair of shoes, or sushi to a dam breaking and destroying the worst factory farm in the country. No idea where that particular image came from—just tuning into one of many vibes out there, I guess. Mm. Anyway—a hopefully-lovely and VERY Pisces-inspired surprise or bit of enlightenment is due today. It could come before lunch on the west coast as I mentioned, or it might skip over the moon void that stretches from 12:45pm PST to 6:10pm, and happen later in the evening. It could even occur during the moon void—larger aspects like this seem to trump the “no results, no consequences” rule—at least as far as something happening goes. As long as it steers clear of the square between the moon newly in Scorpio and Mars, still retro in Leo, at 7:10pm Pacific, I’ll be happy.
Whatever this surprise, enlightenment, or sudden joyous break for freedom is, it WILL set off the best opportunity we’ve had this week for communication that actually works. Mercury sextiles Pluto in the wee morning hours of Thursday March 4th, so Wednesday night is a great time to record those brilliant inspirations & ideas, or to talk things out with anyone you need to talk something out with—ha! You’ll be in a mindset of acceptance, particularly applicable to any of the big scary changes you are or we all are experiencing long-term right now….
Thursday is the first full day of that Scorpio moon, and it’s making very positive touches to Jupiter and the Sun today, which means that we’re ready to reach deep down into our souls, maybe face the darkness or fears we find there, and to watch it dissolve like all the other illusions we tend to hold. Today is not a day for hard-nosed facts or clever wit—but don’t worry, you won’t be looking for that anyway (and if you are, you’ll find awkward stuff in your personal transits, I’d bet). But “right place at the right time” and “opportunity strikes for those who are ready to accept it” are right on par for today.
Moving on to Friday March 5th, the Scorpio moon is still with us most of the day, and a trine to Uranus at 4:05pm PST brings still another (though likely smaller) moment of connectedness, inspiration, or just plain BE-ing that comes as a surprise. Watch for a little psychic moment, maybe—but mind that you don’t go thinking you can solve the problems of the world or anything—just bliss out and enjoy a pleasant evening, especially around 8:30pm as the lusty Scorpio moon trines sexy Venus, who is ready to play with any good vibe in Pisces. This kicks off a three-hour moon void, too—so plenty of time to enjoy the fun… The moon jumps into Sagittarius at 11:35pm, and the fun vibe actually picks up some energy, and might even be ready to get outside and play….It looks like a fun evening. Hooray!
We’re still in that Sadge moon Saturday morning, and speaking of going outside to play, it should be an absolutely perfect day for that. Even if it’s cold where you are, I bet it’ll be just glorious. There could be a small miscommunication during dinner tonight (just before 6pm or so), and you might be too big for the room Saturday night around 9pm, but neither of these little bumps are much to be concerned about.
One more Sagittarius moon sunrise Sunday morning March 7th (how’s that for a Piscean, mixed not-even-a-metaphor?) Venus leaves the Pisces party this morning for Aries, where she’ll stay until March 31—so at least some areas of focus return to solid ground (so to speak.) Venus rules attraction, desires, what we find beautiful, pleasure, and of course—money. Our tastes will begin to change a bit now that the usual parade of Venus/Sun/Mercury begins to slowly exit Pisces, and we’ll have a small taste of this mixed planetary message this weekend, thanks to a trine from barely-in-Aries Venus to Mars—still STILL retrograde in Leo—and this trine, despite or perhaps BECAUSE of the retrograde of Mars is just that—a promise of something wonderful to come when Mars turns direct. Of course, we’ll get to enjoy the yummy-goodness that is a Venus-Mars trine this weekend too, so be on the lookout for some extra-energized and sparky-creative vibes both Saturday & Sunday. Also in effect on both days is a meeting between Mercury and Jupiter, conjunct within hours of the Venus-Mars trine, lending a special magic, a connection so profound it needs no words to understand it, yet so subtle that you might not even realize that you’re feeling the joy created by someone else. Oh yeah—there are some super-tiny bumps this weekend, but I’ll bet you don’t even feel them. Take your time, stretch it out. I know I will… Maybe I should write the podcast early next week. Sunday looks too yummy to spend at the keyboard.
There’s a middle-of-the-night moon void overnight from Sunday to Monday that ends Monday morning March 8th, just in time for the business day on the West Coast—just don’t rush into work this morning. The moon moves into Capricorn this morning at 9:15am PST, and well—as ready to work as that will make us, we’ll still encounter some minor blocks as we go through the day—the ultimate theme being “let’s slow down and cooperate” while we’re actually feeling ready to roar ahead and conduct business our own way, and GET IT DONE. Mmm….suffice it to say that we’ll be torn between two minds today—swinging back and forth from one to the other, quite possibly to the point of accomplishing nothing. Then again, maybe YOU’LL find the way to bridge the gap.
And I haven’t even touched on Mars slowing down, as he prepares to switch direction and move FORWARD again at last…but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Monday, February 22, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise…

Hey everybody, this looks like a pretty lovely week, so let’s just dive on in…
Today, Monday February 22 dawns in the chatty and upbeat Gemini moon left over from the weekend, and aside from a momentary lack of feeling perhaps leading to one of those snappy little Gemini witticisms showing the world how out of touch you are around noon today, the vibe should be nice and chipper. There’s a moment of opportunity around communication tonight at 9:20pm Pacific, so whatever silly little faux-pas you made today should be well swept under the carpet by then…
That moment of good news or that great conversation Monday night is helped even further by the Sun’s sextile to Pluto on Tuesday morning the 23rd of February. With all the Pisces energy floating (and I mean floating) around these days, this little kiss to Pluto indicates that we’re all in the flow, and that means somehow we’re feeling in-tune with the things we’re letting go, and with the ways we’re moving on—even when that means cutting back or being more financially responsible. We’re even feeling hopeful this morning as we get some little sign from the universe that we’re on the right track (and we are of course) as the moon trines Neptune and then goes VOC until 3:30pm PST. Remember, no results/no consequences during a moon void—it’s time best used for organizing, doing chores, cleaning out closets, etc—but this particular moon void is ripe for just plain daydreaming. You’ll be able to visualize in specific detail, and you’ll be telling the universe what you want most with every image and phrase, so drift away and enjoy it!
The energy will drop a notch or two when the moon ends the VOC at 3:30pm by moving into ambitious and sensitive Cancer. (I’ve noticed in recent years that everyone seems to be more tired and heavy during water-sign moons—it’s no slight against Cancer.) And a square from the newly-Cancer moon to Saturn in Libra at 8:55pm PST tells me that some of your well-intentioned nit-picking or Mother Hen’ing rubs someone the wrong way this evening, and an opposition to Pluto just before midnight might make the kerfuffle seem much more serious than it really should. Turns out of course, that it’s all on the path…
Not to worry though—by the time you wake up Wednesday morning, Feb 24th, all seems right with the world, and the whole day from there should be just fine, unless your personal transits say otherwise. In fact, there’s another spot of sweet loveliness at 8:05pm Pacific tonight, leading into a very nice evening.
That considerate and concerned Cancer moon is still hanging around as we wake up Thursday morning, the 25th, and 6:15 that morning sees a small annoyance of some kind, and it’s something communication or information-related. That, paired with a trine from the moon to Uranus at 9:50am could add up to accidentally turning off the alarm only to wake up in surprise later. But don’t worry—that interp is kind of a stretch, really—this little surprise near 10am PST should be something small and happy instead.
And I hope it is, because that touch to Uranus sets off a moon void that lingers for the rest of the West Coast business day—till the moon shifts into generous and charismatic Leo at 5:10pm. Just a couple of hours later, at 7:15pm PST, it meets up with Mars, still retrograde in Leo. Like I said with a similar aspect last week, if Mars’ current retrograde is agreeing with you like it is me, you might find yourself having the energy to continue on that project you’ve recently gone back to—or even having the energy to get to the gym in the effort to get back into those “skinny jeans!” Of course, retrograde or not, there’s always potential for a moon-Mars conjunction to get a little heated, for better or worse, so this aspect, while fairly minor overall, might be a good one to put intention on right now.
My vote goes to this evening being productive, however—especially for those in entertainment or the arts (which could be why I’m optimistic about it) because after the moon meets Mars, it goes on to blow a kiss to level-headed Saturn in even more level-headed (and ambitious) Libra. Yes, it’s another planet in retrograde right now, but a kiss is still a kiss, so I think we’re getting work done tonight in a positive way. It’s just likely work you’ve recently gone BACK to complete…
Friday February 26th sees the moon in Leo all day, and its “Look at ME!” vibe is a little too self-involved for some of us first thing this morning. Inconjunctions to the Sun and Jupiter in Pisces indicate that we might need to step off the Drama Queen antics (no matter how minor or innocent) and tune in to the collective this morning. Furthermore, I think we succeed in this, as the rest of the day looks fairly smooth. Late night Friday into super-early-morning Saturday the 27th looks a little disappointing, but it should be something as simple as the bar running out of your favorite recreational beverage, or the strap on your sexy strappy sandals breaking. It’s no big—and regardless of this tiny little adjustment, it should be a lovely evening, full of inspired & idyllic conversations or ideas. Need to talk through some old Stuff in order to integrate/understand it and get to the yummy Healing part? Friday night is a PERFECT time for that. And that should extend nicely into the sunshiny Saturday morning for the East Coast, too. Mercury meets up today with Neptune & Chiron, still very close together in Aquarius, extending our opportunity to think through our global connection and our old wounds as well as how we’re moving past them every day. The Leo moon might try to pull us away from such spacey pursuits around lunchtime on Saturday, but those of us who are seriously up in our skulls that day will probably tell the attention-needy folks to buzz off. Either way, we could spend a quiet afternoon during the moon void from 12:15pm PST to 4:55pm Sunday. After that, the moon steps into Virgo, where we might get busy with our chores and projects again, or we might just get busy tuning into our physical bodies. The Sun meets up with beautiful Jupiter, both in Pisces of course. This, combined with Sunday’s full moon in Virgo, tells me that the mind-body connection is in full power—bringing the intangible into the mundane world, and appreciating good health & robust experience. Saturday night and pretty much all day Sunday the 28th of February are just blissful.
Speaking both of the bliss and the full moon as the Sun meets up with Jupiter in Pisces, naturally, this brings to a close the dreams that we dove into two weeks ago on the new moon. In other words—at least on the global scale—the closing ceremonies of the Olympics are tonight, of course, and as we all know—the Olympics are a perfect representation of the fraternity, unity, and quest for perfection initiated by the new moon in Aquarius two weeks ago, and of course, the close of the games (for those of us who watched along the way) finds us and the athletes basking in the afterglow, as well as nursing our physical and ego-based wounds. With the sky clear for the rest of Sunday and the evening, go ahead and join the global-bliss out. Have a glass and watch the athletes say goodbye to two of the most magical weeks of their lives.
Incidentally, someone has to tell me—do the games always, I mean deliberately open and close on a new and full moon, or did it just happen this year because I’m paying attention?
Either way, all of us will find something that began two weeks ago is coming to a close, or at very least, to the next step in its process. As always, I’ll point you to Starcana.com and Astrogrrl.com if you’d like more detail on this full moon, or the cluster of planets now traipsing through Pisces…I’m a Big Picture/Translation girl. ;-)
Moving on to Monday March 1st, that healthy Virgo moon is still with us as we wake up, but will only have any real power until 9:35am PST, when it makes its last major aspect with a shocking opposition to Uranus—in other words, a less-than-ideal surprise or shock this morning will set the tone for the rest of the active Virgo moon, and you’ll be using that remaining detail and fix-it oriented Virgo energy to clean up the mess or to get back to the bliss of last night (without much luck.) If you’re lucky, you’ll be tuned into this podcast ahead of time, prepared for the minor morning upset, and YOU can spend this moon-void day catching up on necessary chores! Good for you…
For all of us, in the midst of this awkward and busy-without-results day (again, currently talking about Monday March 1st) –we get some information today, remember something, or have an idea that changes the direction of some energy you’ve spent recently toward publicity, self-promotion, or self-improvement. As always with an inconjunct—and especially with one between Mercury and Mars as today’s is—it will be awkward, uncomfortable, and especially irritating. This is at least partially because Mercury’s energy has just shifted as well—from active and multitasking Aquarius to the completely NON-mental but all-feeling Pisces. Mercury is in its fall in Pisces, which rather makes it like the less-shiny apple that came in with last week’s shipment sitting next to a nice fresh-picked one that arrived today in the produce aisle. Which apple are YOU gonna buy? And let’s switch sides of our produce metaphor and say you ARE the apple—how does the arrival of the fresh & young affect your ego? Not well, you say? Then welcome to today’s sort of awkward adjustment. The funny thing about my past-due fable is that Mercury, joining the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus in Pisces ---ha ha! THIS Mercury HAS no ego! Plenty of feelings, sure—but such an overview of the spiritual magnitude of every single atom on the planet that no little dramas or any one person’s self-importance can even really register on the radar. And if they do—they’re appreciated as simply part of the experience we’re here to have. Confused yet? Yeah—that’s Pisces…
Anyway, this little paradox might just set the stage for the upset ego of Mars retro in Leo—the pouty starlet’s response to suddenly being ignored on the red carpet. Adjustments will need to be made. Try the path of acceptance, even if that wouldn’t be your first choice under normal circumstances—you’ll find it much easier now than you’d expect.
Fortunately for all of us, the harmony-oriented Libra moon kicks in Monday afternoon at 4:30pm, and this sweet moon is compatible with Pisces (at least on the surface, which is all Libra is concerned with sometimes). This moon strokes Mars’ ego in Leo nicely at 5:45pm PST (the starlet gets her flashbulbs after all) but shortly thereafter, our thoughts want to bliss out into the atmosphere again instead of giving our attention to one ditzy blonde (says a ditzy blonde!) By 9pm PST Monday March 1st, we’re drained one way or another, and we either give in to someone’s needed compromise, buckle down to serious and focused work, or just feel heavy as lead and go to bed.
There are more surprises in the week ahead, but that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

Hi everybody, and welcome to It’s Planetary! It’s Monday, February 15, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you that “You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise…
Thank you so much for tuning in. While we’re all enjoying Mercury in Aquarius, it’s a great time to refer a friend to It’s Planetary, as well as to stop by iTunes and leave a review of this podcast. Your friends will thank you for the referral, and I’ll thank you for the iTunes review!
Man—what a lovely weekend. An Aquarius new moon giving us some excellent and diverse ideas and projects to set in motion, as well as the Sun’s meeting with Neptune & Chiron in Aquarius, bringing unity and healing in new ways. Toss in a sexy little Venus-Pluto vibe last night, with Venus newly in sweet Pisces, and for the great majority of us, it should have been a lovely & dreamy-creamy Valentine’s Day. Throw in the influence of Mars sextiling Saturn this morning, which would have been with us all weekend as well, and you’ve got some extra energy that might even have been a boost in the Business Time Department or in creating some excellent structure within your relationship. Or maybe you spent Valentine’s Day with the Ghost of Relationship Past, thanks to the retrograde motion of both Mars AND Saturn right now—but hopefully all the hopeful and healing planets yesterday pitched in to make that a positive experience.
For a little real-life synchronicity, take note of the Winter Olympics opening over the weekend on the new moon—while sporting events aren’t really an Aquarian strong point, nations coming together in peace, and unity most certainly is—and Jozef and I were both struck by that feeling as we watched the Opening Ceremonies Friday night. And since I’m mentioning the opening of the games, I can’t ignore the fatal accident that occurred on the same day, the day the world came together to celebrate and recognize athleticism, excellence, and fraternity. I’ll just gently remind everyone that Mars was still near-perfectly inconjunct Pluto that Friday morning, and that Saturn and Pluto are still locked in the square they’re holding over us most of this year. I’m not going to break down the incident to the minutiae, but yes—there were plenty of corollaries to events such as this in the sky on that day (as well as the lovely ones) and they must have made aspects to his personal chart in just exactly the right way. It’s most unfortunate, and very sad—but again, with that Big Square hanging out, losses that get our attention in a very big way are to be expected this year. I know that the Olympians will honor his memory by living the dream that he was there to live.
Again it’s Monday, February 15, 2010—and with any luck, we’re still in the lovely, stimulating, and uber-connected vibe left over for the weekend, and thanks to the Mars-Saturn sextile that’s exact this morning, it should be a very good day for going back to repair old negotiations, or for getting business done in general. Things are flowing smoothly today, and this is aided even further by a couple of planetary meetings that are actually exact on Tuesday. Essentially, it breaks down like this: Monday morning Mars & Saturn are sextile (good kiss between busy & active planets in attention-giving and harmony-oriented signs) and then Tuesday, while that’s still in effect, Venus & Jupiter conjunct in Pisces (the very best positive planets combining their energies in the most connected, God-present sign) while Neptune & Chiron conjunct in Aquarius (Hope & perhaps-bittersweet healing in the most rational, able-to-process meaning and truth-based sign.) Can you imagine what sorts of amazing things can come out of a starry stew this rich and hearty? Well, it depends on where each of these meetings are happening in your chart—so if there was ever a week to read your horoscopes for your RISING SIGN as well as your Sun Sign—this is it. Maybe it’s overly-optimistic of me (Venus-Jupiter conjunction) but the universe has its pen out, ready to write a check to you this week. Check your Ascendant sign and look up your ‘scope today to see where that check is going to land in your life…
And best of all, this lovely mix of energies is in place just in time for Mardi Gras, for those of you who celebrate! Tuesday morning there’ll be a small surprise of some sort around 6:30am PST, and given the vibe of the bigger elements today, the tone that this surprise sets as it kicks off an all-day moon void will most likely be good. (Then again, just so you’re aware—that surprise could still be an icky one that brings up an old issue so that you can heal over it before enjoying the evening ahead.) The moon void ends at 4:30pm when the moon jumps into Aries, which will definitely make for a lively evening—just watch yourself if you are out enjoying the party tonight, as all these good, big meetups could just as easily contribute to spilling over the edge entirely and winding up in a situation that will become a wound in your life in the future. Moderation won’t be impossible to come by, but it’ll be tough. Do what you can to have fun without spilling over that edge…BTW, if you ARE out tonight for Mardi Gras, make it an early party night—you’ll definitely face potential for turning into a pumpkin around 2am PST.
That Aries moon is still with us Wednesday morning, and those good vibes are too, most likely—at least for those of us who experienced vibe as good. If you didn’t—perhaps today is a second chance. The only aspect today is a pretty little kiss from that action-oriented moon to Mercury in Aquarius, so 2:25pm PST might be the moment you get the answer, idea, or inspiration you didn’t even know you were waiting for. Jump on it.
Thursday is STILL an Aries-moon day, and if the Mars retrograde is going smoothly for you, this stretch of Mars-ruled days will be good. Personally, I’ve been enjoying all of the Mars energy lately—both thanks to the retrograde and to even the typically-uncomfortable aspects its been making lately. I’ve had more energy and drive lately, and I’ve been motivated to get moving on things I’d left behind in the last year or so. I sure hope this lasts beyond the retrograde. In any case, Thursday is another active day in the Mars vibe, whether yours is mildly reversed for good or for frustration.
Thursday evening, the moon sextiles Neptune, furthering the dreamy, floaty vibe that the Sun embraced this morning when it dove headlong into Pisces, to stay for the next several weeks. That’s right—the Sun, Jupiter, and Venus are ALL in Pisces now, so wow oh wow will those psychic powers kick in for all of us. As far as our being connected, it’s like we’ve just gone from 14.4 dial-up to cable internet, and in more ways than one, too. Just like your cable internet connection, this one is always on—whether you think it is or not. Use my little trick of pretending that life is just a dream—the kind you have when you’re asleep, only in real-life, and see what happens. Yes—I’m talking about while all this juicy goodness is going on in Pisces for the next month or so, but some of that juicy goodness is going to be with us all year. It’s just that it’s as close to tangible as it ever gets right now, for a few weeks. In other words, if you think you know what that person is thinking—you’re probably right. But they know what you’re thinking, too… Best keep those thoughts happy and positive, huh?
Moving on to Friday the 19th, we wake up to a shift in the lunar energy—a bit more grounded in Taurus as we lead into the weekend. The wake-up itself might be a smidge cranky, but make the mildly-annoying adjustments and compromises and you’ll be feeling better by lunchtime Pacific—and those good feelings will last into the evening and even late-night. It might be a quiet one, but it’s a night that has the potential for sweet delights and deep connections with a solid footing. Mmmm…
Saturday the 20th wakes up still in that luscious Taurus vibe, but methinks the phone rings a little too early and Taurus doesn’t like its sleep disturbed—trust me. The day could shift, but I wouldn’t count on it, since the Sun is tweaking Mars, and we’ll be feeling that agitation and irritation all day. Super-late-night might bring a shift in the energy—or it might just be another annoying surprise. This will only affect you if you’re hanging out around 2am Pacific, so east coasters are likely off the hook for this one.
And everyone gets to sleep in on Sunday morning, since a super-groggy fog will be in play from 4:15am PST till 10:50am, when the moon skips into bright and sparkly Gemini. The early afternoon on Sunday is great for getting outdoors, but don’t push too hard on that first warm weather workout (with apologies to the still-frigid east coast—it’s in the high 60’s here right now) –there’s a small frowny-face just before 5pm. That little hiccup could also be that someone’s sense of humor is a little insensitive—but a quick trine to Saturn right on the heels of the offense tells me that Mr. Funny Guy tunes in and says he’s sorry super-fast. On the other hand, a bigger tweaky aspect is going on between the gentle-in-Pisces Sun and Saturn, who *should* be feeling pretty balanced in Libra but who is also probably experiencing some angst from the past. Harumph. It’s a grumpy evening, and it’s not gonna get better. Fold the socks and go to bed.
The week starts off on the 22nd with more of that chipper Gemini vibe, but seriously—watch the wisecracks today—for some reason, they’re not gonna jibe with the rest of the world’s mood. Still, it should be an alright day—nice for air & fire signs anyway—I know I love a Gemini moon day. And tonight, the joke will find the right audience around 9:20pm Pacific. In fact, thanks to a positive Sun-Pluto thing the next day, Monday night looks pretty good.
But that’ll have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

First things first, gang—I am SO sorry that I just vanished last week, and took a “podcast vacation” without warning. It wasn’t intentional—I generally announce such things ahead of time when it IS on purpose. But last weekend (as you might recall) was the second touch of the Saturn-Pluto square. And the one day I had to write the podcast, I was very much in that heavy vibe of profound disappointment—without any particular cause. In other words, it was NOT a day for me to be writing—not only would I have had only dreary and depressive things to say—but by writing those thoughts down and then recording and broadcasting them, I would naturally have only been CEMENTING those very vibes for my future, AND for yours. I absolutely did not want to do that. And then the schedule was just too full for the next few days, so by Tuesday night, I was rapidly becoming aware that the podcast just wasn’t going to happen that week. I posted a little notice on the Facebook page and on Twitter, and I got a handful of wonderful responses offering support and appreciation as I took the week off. So thank you for tolerating my disappearance, and even more, for returning to listen or read again this week.
The week ahead of us has some interesting curves to it, so let’s just dive right in. Again, it’s Monday, February 8, 2010. As I’m writing this from the basement of the Fashion Show Mall on Super Bowl Sunday, it’s just a lovely vibe—so whether your team won or lost yesterday, odds are good that you had a really pleasant day and an even more-pleasant evening. I do love a nice weekend to kick off the week. Monday and Tuesday are technically slow news days in and of themselves, but an uncomfortable aspect from Mars to Jupiter will be coloring them as well, so we’ll need to take that into consideration. Monday morning dawns in the same jovial and optimistic Sagittarius moon that ruled the sporting events over the weekend, and it’s a lively and happy day for the most part today. A little surprise bump around 4pm PST will send only the tiniest ripples through the afternoon—by 6pm Pacific, the vibe returns to camaraderie and fellowship. A sweet little kiss from that Sadge moon to Venus in Aquarius closes out the evening at 9pm PST, and since it kicks off a moon void till the wee hours, that sweet vibe will stick with us till bedtime. It’s a good night to enjoy a sweet dessert—calories consumed after 9pm will somehow vanish into thin air!
Tuesday the 9th dawns with a newly-minted Capricorn moon, meaning that we wake up ready to handle business and details, and to make things happen. By 10:45am Pacific that moon runs afoul of Saturn in Libra, which tells me that our ambitions probably bump heads with our ability to be fair and balanced in relationships—in other words, a negotiation breaks down. At noon, the resolution might become obvious—“let it go”—and shortly thereafter, you’ll have a moment of tuned-in-ness that assures you once again that you’re on the right path—despite it causing a minor conflict of some sort.
But let’s back up and think about Monday and Tuesday again, with the additional shading from the Mars-Jupiter inconjunction. This actually occurs in the early morning hours of the 10th, but will be in fullest effect on the 8th & 9th. Mars is retrograde remember ( meaning that it appears visually to be moving backward in the sky) so for those of us here on earth, it reflects a literal “back-up” of energy, drive, and passion. I’ve noticed that those of a generally easy-going nature (like myself) are more riled up, ready to pounce, and that those who are normally more aggressive are behaving more quietly, or using passive-aggression instead of their usual-in-your-face tactics. Sexual passion has also been on the back-burner since just after Christmas, and will stay that way for a while longer—that is, unless it’s NORMALLY on the back-burner for you, in which case, it might be exactly the opposite right now. One way or another, actions are stymied and stilted, and moving forward with plans is difficult. Communication and information are there, no problem—but Action Steps? Tough to get going right now. You might have returned to some old activities, however—like going back to working out after taking a break from Thanksgiving to New Years. Now is a great time for taking action on plans or projects that were waylaid in the past.
Now—we need to consider another element of this past weekend before we go on. On Super Bowl Sunday (Sunday the 7th, for the non-media inclined) Jupiter, planet of optimism, international affairs, and wide-open boundaries sextiled (kissed) Pluto, the planet of destruction and rebirth, which is incidentally tied up in a big, blocking square with Saturn. From the Jupiter-Pluto sextile, I personally took that we finally got to feel some relief from the heavy concerns and fears surrounding our deep desire and need to move away from the dead and decaying in our lives. Those situations we know are over and need to be left behind, but that we simultaneously keep convincing ourselves that we can keep, or maybe just keep a little bit. Over the weekend, we felt both the resistance to the letting go, and the peaceful, internal assurance that it’s the right move. Today, Mars aggravates this process Monday and Tuesday—and it could be that some element of the situation you need to leave behind flares up and demands your attention in a very sharp manner. Breathe deeply and keep moving forward—there is peace in this process within you—just remember that it’s there and call it forward. Again, this harshly irritating aspect is in play overnight from the 9th to the 10th, and with no other aspects of note on Wednesday the 10th, we might well be in this agitated and irritable place all day.
Also overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, Mercury moves into Aquarius, where it will hang out for several weeks. With Mercury in this highly-connected and information-oriented sign, you can expect to hear from friends from the four corners of the earth, and to solidify your networks, both social and professional. If you found Facebook or Twitter mystifying before, this might be when they suddenly begin to make sense to you. With Mercury in Aquarius you should make an effort to record the brilliant inspirations that come—because they will, and you’ll want to remember them to act upon later. Aquarius is a very loquacious sign, so you can also expect to find yourself and other people being much more chatty and inclined toward tangential thinking in the coming weeks. Don’t worry—it’s fun!
Again—that harshly irritating Mars-Jupiter thing is hanging out with nothing much else to smooth the ride on Wednesday—so with that said, we’ll move on to Thursday the 11th. This morning at 4:10am PST, Venus slides serenely into Pisces, where she will also stay for several weeks to come. On the most mundane level, this means that the coming month or so are a great time to pamper your feet, get a pedicure, or buy that “so pretty and so comfortable, too” pair of shoes… Interestingly enough, it’s during this time that the spring shoe convention hits in Vegas! I think it’ll be a good year for shoes…
In a grander perspective, Venus in Pisces adds a dollop of compassion to our lives like semi-sweet hand-whipped cream, along with an appreciation for Flow that can sometimes get lost in our busy day-to-day lives. It might also lead us to misrepresent ourselves a bit more—though it won’t be intentional. Pisces sometimes gets a bad rap as the “liar” of the zodiac, but I personally believe that title goes to two other signs, NOT Pisces. Oh, they misrepresent themselves all the time—but it’s because they can flow like water into whatever role needs fulfilling—and they DO flow into these roles—both without being asked and more notably—without even realizing it themselves! So while Venus in Pisces might make all of us more inclined toward unintentional people-pleasing, I don’t think we can really be held responsible…I’m sure Astrogrrl will have another great article on this planetary sign change—and I know I’ll be checking it out.
Also early on Thursday morning, the Capricorn moon makes one last tiny kiss to Uranus, dropping brilliant little inspirations into the early-morning dreams of West Coasters at 4:40am, and providing some pleasant little wake-up surprise to the East Coast, at 7:40am—but this kiss is the last we’ll see of the Cap moon as it goes VOC until 3:25pm Pacific. Remember—don’t attempt anything of consequence during a moon void—it won’t work out. Then again, it’s a great time to be late to work—no one will notice. No results, no consequences from 4:4oam – 3:25pm Pacific on Thursday.
The VOC ends Thursday afternoon when the moon skips into lively Aquarius, bringing a lightness to our moods again and making us feel like hanging out with friends. Even better, a meeting with Mercury at 8:40pm Pacific gets an idea out on the table, or brings in a bit of news. This is gender-neutral, which I use to mean that it could be good OR bad—but with positive alignments on the way today and tomorrow, I think it’s a small bright spot of good news. Nothing over-the-top, just nice. Late evening for West Coasters is harmonious and pleasant, if a bit quiet, but get to bed by midnight—an opposition to Mars at 1am PST might bring some energy that keeps you awake otherwise…
Friday the 12th is still under the influence of that fair-minded and honorable Aquarian moon, and along comes another sharp cut from Mars, this time to Pluto. This is another touch which will probably feel the Rx influence of Mars in Leo—those dead-or-dying elements of our lives that we were so ready to shed only just last weekend are demanding our attention again, and there will be an unpleasant adjustment to our plans toward the end of this week. The yucky news is that this sense of deep agitation and irritation could be with us all week long.
Blending nicely with Friday’s Aquarian energy is a late-afternoon trine from Mercury (also in Aquarius) to Saturn in Libra. Despite (or perhaps related-to) those deeply irritating adjustments that our plans to “let go” are experiencing, today is an excellent day for writing letters related to business—especially toward relationship marketing—and for negotiations. But those who venture out for nightlife activities tonight might find that one bad apple needs all the attention, and is pretty loud about it. If you’re the bad apple—no one wants to hear it tonight, trust me. We’re all in a “one for all and all for one” sort of mood—no divas allowed. This aspect, Mercury opposing Mars, indicates an argument or a conflict—and it most likely revolves around someone having “too many friends” and not paying enough attention to someone else. Where would you shake down in that scenario? Play nice—Valentine’s Day is right around the corner…
Saturday the 13th of February is another lovely day for socializing and networking, as well as for devoting yourself to humanitarian causes. This evening at 6:50pm Pacific, the moon meets up with the Sun at around 25* of Aquarius for a lovely new moon. You might remember that new moons are for initiating actions or plans—with Mars Rx, it’s probably more of the planning variety this time around, but reaching out to form new relationships, join new networks, or to embrace your own ideals more fully are great activities for this new moon. This new moon meets up with Chiron and Neptune, still conjunct in Aquarius as well, so humanity as a whole (and how we contribute to it) are very much part of the new plans we make now. The moon goes VOC with the touch to Neptune tonight at 8:30pm PST, so we’re in a dreamy, idealistic place tonight, with nothing to change the vibe until just before sunrise tomorrow. As usual, there are no consequences, no results during the moon void, and with Venus inconjuncting Saturn & Mars Sunday morning, I can see that we’ll all be feeling spacey enough to make that absolutely true. These Sunday-morning aspects can also indicate heaviness and conflicts Saturday night, most likely related to once again feeling that we shouldn’t make the big, terrifying changes we’ve been struggling with on the deeper levels of our lives. All I can say is “go with the flow.” If it feels today like you should do it and tomorrow like you shouldn’t—you’re right in line with everyone else on the planet. Just be there, really—but ultimately later this year—those changes will come whether you like it or not. It can be tough at times—elements we’re feeling over this weekend will make it seem very natural and “in the flow” to look backward, and to glorify or justify staying with what’s comfortable. Compromise will be easy to find, things will feel GOOD where we were trying to move on, and that alone can make it seem like staying put is a good idea. Maybe it is. But like I said, later this year, those changes will come whether you like it or not. And if it happens THAT way, it will be MUCH rougher than if you made the touch choices now.
Anyway—Sunday the 14th is a vegetable soup of notable aspects, with Venus making us spacey and dreamy, and putting a rose-colored glow over some of the more difficult elements of our lives, as well as the Sun meeting up with that Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius, making all that’s happened up till now suddenly seem (in our memories) to have been perfectly reasonable and understandable. Aquarius can rationalize ANYthing. Throw in a sexy little Venus-Pluto kiss for some yummy Sexy Time Sunday night (or a productive creative burst) and the Mars-Saturn sextile from Monday morning—and yeah, things seem to be moving around nicely to convince us that making these big moves isn’t advisable after all. But as I told a friend in a reading the other night—whether I’m standing right here, across the country, or three inches to the left, this late-summer’s lightning storm WILL strike. Making the changes you know you need to make ahead of that storm is sort of like putting up a lightning rod—capture and harness that power into a particular area of your life instead of waiting for it to hit wherever it will.
Going back quickly to look at the weekend from the perspective of Valentine’s Day, Saturday looks like a safe enough bet for a nice night to celebrate—but I’d really see if you can’t secure reservations for Sunday the 14th, itself—that Venus-Pluto kiss will make SURE that you receive plenty of kisses yourself. Once we hit afternoon on the west coast, it’ll be a lovely Valentine’s Day—if perhaps, a bit less emotional and gooey than usual, and the fireworks that the Venus-Pluto action contributes to the party might be a little less spectacular than usual thanks to Mars in retrograde. Just be happy that your mate is your best friend, because that’s more the vibe we’ll all be in this Valentine’s. And frankly---that’s a pretty cool place as far as I’m concerned…
So that Mars-Saturn sextile on Monday the 15th of February is a really good start to the week, and we’ll find ourselves getting a great deal of stuff accomplished, both over the Valentine’s weekend, and as we start the week ahead. A Pisces moon on Monday serves to let us know where we’re on track or not, so just go with the flow as the week begins.
We’re all feeling the Mardi Gras spirit (and probably have been since the hope-endowing win by the Saints on Sunday) as Fat Tuesday itself rolls around, but that, and the rest of that week’s forecast will have to wait for the next podcast since that wraps us up for THIS week…

Mon, 25 January 2010
Hi
everybody, and welcome to It's Planetary! It"s Monday January 25, 2010. I’m
Heather Burdette, reminding you that "You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise… Thank you so much for tuning in. Before we get to the meat, I just want to remind you that anytime is a great time to order a personal transit report, a natal birth chart report, a Solar Return report (which I’ll explain in a minute) and/or a relationship report! These reports are very reasonably priced, and provide an enormous amount of highly personalized information. If you’d like to get more in-depth, I’m also available for personal readings by phone, Skype or email. There’s a coupon code, valid for $10 off the price of personal readings, at the end of the podcast so stay tuned! Alright—so on the surface, it looks like a relatively slow week ending in a full moon. But we all know that looks can be deceiving. I’m sure you’ve probably noticed the reincarnation of issues from last fall—specifically issues that came to the fore initially in October & November, but maybe melded or morphed into related issues in December. I’m talking about the Saturn-Pluto square, which is set to hit its second exact touch on January 31—placing it firmly in my Solar Return for the year, as it happens, a fact I’ve been sorely anticipating since I learned about the square in the first place. Strangely enough though—and I seriously hope I’m not eating my words on this one later—as this second touch approaches, I’m not feeling so scared. Back in the fall, during the months that I mentioned (listeners & readers may recall) that I was personally edging into at least a minor bit of depression. I don’t pretend to have a perfect life or be greeted every morning by bluebirds just because I can read the stars—I’m still at the mercy of my own creations and of the rhythms of the collective universe just like you are. I have plenty of bad days, and last fall, I was definitely feeling that I was having more than my share, so knowing that these issues were bound to resurface with the second touch of the square had me shaking in my boots back before Christmas. But here’s the cool thing—and I do hope that it’s working this way for you, too: since Saturn turned retrograde this month, along with Mercury (at the time) and Mars—rather than being weighted down by the same, similar, or related issues to those I was not-really-handling last fall, I find myself SOLVING THE PROBLEMS. One by one, and with steady daily effort. I don’t know if I’ll clear them out or not—all I can do is keep working on them. But working on them is a million times better than feeling TRAPPED by those problems, facing a bleak and unhappy future. For me personally, it was almost as though a spell had to break somewhere—releasing me from my self-imposed prison. A prison constructed entirely of my own FEAR. I don’t know about you, but that was one ugly place—and the scariest part of all was that it felt at the time like it was just the beginning—as though it had a lot darker to get before I could really see how black things were. Keeping in mind that we ARE in a Saturn retrograde—a time when we typically feel several months’ relief from whatever grindstone Saturn us facing in our lives—it could just be that temporary relief I’m feeling, and not the reality that the Saturn-Pluto square will force upon me and/or the whole world over the course of the next year. It very well could be a moment’s breath. But then again, maybe what I’m feeling is the release of my own resistance to change—which makes an enormous amount of sense with regard to the “issues” themselves. Back in the fall, I found myself giving up to some extent—saying “this is all I can hope for right now because the economy is so bad,” and blah blah blah. But what I was really doing was RESISTING CHANGE (thanks to Saturn in my 3rd, restricting my thoughts) and SETTLING for “the best I could hope for” in exchange for my life not being restructured. Here we are, a few months later, and I’m ready to accept that restructuring—in fact, on certain levels, I’m ready to undertake the restructuring myself! I keep forgetting, as I’m sure many of us do, that every moment of my life is entirely of my creation—what I expect to happen, even if that expectation is unvoiced or even un-THUNK, what I EXPECT to happen DOES. So if I think “Item X” is the best I can hope for, it most certainly is. And if the rhythm of the universe is supporting me in negative thinking, the more likely I am to become trapped there. Until I can stop the spiraling depressive thoughts and spy a window, that is. Whether I credit Saturn’s retrograde relief, or the Triple Conjunction, or pure delusion, I spotted a window. And suddenly, I spotted a few more, too. They’re all a stretch—bending my body and my mind in directions that I didn’t even consider to be options a few months ago—but you have to bend and stretch to grow, right? Ha! And sure—thanks to the THIRD touch to the Saturn-Pluto square that hits later this year, when it’s potentially bigger and badder than it’s even BEEN as of yet, my biggest concern as I “solve” these problems from last fall is that I’m unknowingly jumping from the frying pan into the fire. (Good God, I hope not.) But making these moves feels like the right thing to do, and not in that crazy, “OMG, I have to DO this NOW” sort of way—so yeah—it feels right. I can’t let myself become paralyzed by what I know of the stars—I still have to act, move, function, participate. Knowing the cosmic weather doesn’t release me from showing up in my own life, nor excuse me for hanging back out of fear. The thing is, the fall of 2010 has major potential to be life-altering for all of us—I’d prefer that it be from something global and far away, or out of my personal sphere of control than to have it be due to some choice I deliberately made while trying to grow and make my life better, but regardless of cause, life-altering events are on the way. And, as I can see by my current moves to improve my circumstances by bending and stretching in ways that were off the table only a month or two ago, apparently I just lied to you: I’d rather take responsibility for my own life, to be an active participant in this creative process, and to show up daily for the work than to simply let it happen to me, or worse—to cower in fear. So. As this week brings up issues that have been around since last fall and I find myself addressing each fear individually and setting about conquering them one by one, I feel that I’m doing the right thing. What about you? Now—the thing is, all this heaviness that I’m talking about—there’s a decent chance that it’s manifesting in your life in a fairly subtle manner, but it or they are issues that are large enough to cause or effect exactly that: life-altering change. As we approach this second touch—we’re in it right now—do you find yourself undertaking that restructuring yourself? In what ways? And more importantly—how does it FEEL to you? Please feel free to leave comments for me at www.facebook.com/itsplanetary or drop me a personal email at itsplanetary@gmail.com. I’d love to be able to share some other stories of these times in future podcasts, all anonymously, of course… So—with all that potential heaviness discussed, let’s move on to the week as a whole… Again, it’s Monday, January 25, 2010, and this morning we wake up to an attention-deficient Gemini moon that kicked in in the wee hours overnight, and all the sudden chatter is going to be a bit too much first thing this morning at 6:10am Pacific, when it pulls you out of a very pleasant reverie. This rather sets the tone for the first part of the day, and might either annoy someone who’s trying to keep to themselves today, or might let a secret slip this morning at 10:30am PST. It’s not a big deal by itself, but if it works to set off bigger elements from later today, it could outgrow itself. Again, left to its moon transits, the day settles into a nice rhythm & flow of information, as the Gem moon trines Saturn in Libra at 11:05am, and the Aquarius Sun at 1:15pm, but looming over all is an aspect of irritation and adjustment between communication-&-mentally-focused Mercury and passionate Mars at 5:40pm. Mars is retrograde in Leo right now, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely noticed the change in energy—not only are actions taking longer to get moving or completed lately, but passion and anger have both gone more internal—manifesting as passive aggression and a lack of -well—SEX! Not that desire has really gone away—at least not universally—but from what I’m observing around me, it’s that if one partner has the desire, there’s no time, or someone’s genuinely sick, or separated by work, etc. Are you starting to feel the frustration? Join the club… But this inconjunct between Mercury & Mars tells me that someone’s growing weary of the passive aggressive BS, or of waiting for Business Time, or of just all the whining going on in general. Drama queens can expect to be taken down a peg or two by someone today, and the business-minded will likely find their routines interrupted by someone else’s drama. Adjust despite the irritation, and things should get back on track. Adjustment is the key. Again, there are sweet & small moon aspects this Monday evening and tonight, so with any luck, today’s drama will blow over without any lasting repercussions. Tuesday January 26 starts out in the same very busy Gemini moon—but it’s not exactly a Virgo sort of busy, where you could expect to be handling details and getting things done like crazy—it’s a Gemini sort of busy, where you have TONS of email, a kajillion tabs open in your browser, and/or the phone ringing off the hook. It should be fun for the most part today—but things will get a little drama-ridden again tonight, starting with a minor but out-of-the-blue surprise at 8:05pm PST. Maybe you were just thinking of an unpleasant person or situation when suddenly a bit of it reached into your here-and-now. Something like that. It might actually be a better happenstance than you imagine at first though, thanks to a trine from the moon to healing Chiron—but as we all know with Chiron, there’s always a bittersweet element to it. Compounding the bittersweet, at 9:30pm tonight, Venus in Aquarius opposes Mars (still retrograde in Leo of course) and your attempts to connect to someone else or to be creative will most likely not be satisfied—not right now, in any case…This is the aspect that led to last week’s teaser line suggesting potential conflicts in relationships. It doesn’t HAVE to manifest that way, but for at least some of us, it will. *sigh* Still, it’s a dreamy close to the day, thanks to the moon trining ethereal Neptune in Aquarius right as the moon goes VOC for the rest of the night… For East Coasters, Wednesday the 27th starts out in that VOC, meaning “no results, no consequences” for the morning, but that ends at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific when the moon slides into sensitive and feeling Cancer. A trine to Jupiter in super-connected Pisces this morning at 9:25am Pacific is a bright spot in the day when the Flow is truly flowing and we’re all in it, in all the right ways. Starting after lunch though, we’re brought back to earth with a thud as that Cancer moon feels the crush of progress bearing down on us like a tank, and the disappointment from that settles in not long after. (Those moon aspects to the Saturn-Pluto square are at 12:55pm and 1:20pm Pacific, BTW.) Thanks to this square getting ready to go exact for the second time as Saturn is in its retrograde, this small bit of heaviness today could be heavier still. Let’s add to that a full moon in just a couple of days, and today holds potential to be the day for our “full moon events” to kick in—but I’ll just hold my breath and hope that it holds off for the weekend. Or maybe I should bite my tongue on that, too. Regardless of whether today is a BIG downer or only a small one, our bit of neediness around this heaviness somehow goes against the general vibe this evening, and I have a feeling a great many of us will choose isolation over company tonight (and a few will be playing martyr games as they do so.) Thursday morning January 28 is another emotional Cancer moon day, and East Coasters might be too deeply sensitive to handle someone’s bit of business early this morning at 7:20am Eastern. After that though, it’s a smooth-flowing day until this evening, when another surprise comes in to shake us up—this time very pleasantly. With any luck, this surprise will translate to some optimistic inspiration, since the moon goes void of course with that trine to Uranus at 8:50pm Pacific, and stays that way till tomorrow morning. Some minor irritations and adjustments will enter the picture after 10pm Wednesday night, making it tougher to drift off to sleep perhaps. The moon shifts into dramatic Leo this morning at 6:10am Pacific (so East Coasters once again get to enjoy a morning where no one will notice if they’re late to work) and it’s a day full of smallish adjustments again until things seem to kick into gear after lunch at 1:10pm Pacific. All is well from there till the evening, when the moon meets up with retrograde Mars in Leo just over an hour before opposing the Sun to form the full moon at 10:30pm Pacific. Leo is such a gregarious, outgoing, generally-happy sign, with lots of love to give (and lots of adoration to receive.) And Mars is a planetary energy that is usually SO easily expressed, especially in Leo—but when Mars is retrograde, that passionate, active, even fierce energy internalizes. I keep fighting to understand what that means, but I’m fortunate enough to have regular exposure to some very Mars-ruled types, and I can see the manifestation for myself. Passive-aggression, manipulation instead of direct action or confrontations, and even just the (fairly pleasant) lowered need for attention. Instead of that attention-getting, action-oriented energy being outwardly directed as it normally is, it either turns inward, so we’re giving attention to our OWN needs instead of putting them onto others this time around, or—in the best case scenario, we’re going back and handling old actions that we left undone before the holidays. If this sounds like déjà vu, it is, in a sense—Mercury AND Mars were retrograde simultaneously just after Christmas. Mercury is direct now, so you’re caught up on business, but are you caught up on ACTION? It might be harder to get going right now, but if you ARE going, I’d bet that you’re moving on things you didn’t get the chance to do before. I am…a long-delayed project and venture is underway, and yes, I’m still hesitant (hard to start) and anxious about it, but I’m MOVING on it. There you go. So—this meeting with retrograde Mars right on top of the full moon in Leo is most likely to bring some MUCH older business to a close than the normal two-week window that full moons generally close. This old business might bring that attention that you needed or were seeking before, and it seems like a good thing—but of course, that’s a matter of perspective. If you’re feeling shy and retiring right now, perhaps that attention will be something you’d prefer not to have. It’s kind of up to you to determine how this hits you—so if you want this to be a pleasant bit of closure, it’s best to decide what it is now, and put some strong intention around that. Moving on to Saturday morning, January 30, the outgoing Leo moon is still with us of course, and an opposition to Venus at 5:50am PST means that we might have an unpleasantly early wake-up call (whether we asked for it or not)—and additional noise will likely keep us awake as of 7:35am. I’m sure I’ll find a way to get back to sleep—even if I AM working I’ll be due for another hour, so I’m taking it, by God! The rest of the day will be filled with hearing the drama-filled stories from the full moon the night before, and possibly gearing up for another round tonight. Fortunately (I think)—aside from a few bumps as you’re getting ready to go out, the evening is sort of a pleasant blur if you can keep yourself free of the Drama Queens—or keep from BEING a Drama Queen…The moon goes VOC with an opposition to foggy Neptune at 10:30pm PST, so no consequences, no results—as long as the Saturn-Pluto square isn’t set to activate in your chart tonight. Play it safe and designate a TRUSTWORTHY driver… And speaking of the Saturn-Pluto square, that brings us to Sunday the 31st, and that square is exact today at 1:30pm PST, just in time to place it squarely in my own personal Solar Return. For those of you who’ve never heard of a Solar Return, it is—in short—your birthday. It’s the moment when the Sun reaches the precise point it was at at the moment of your birth—which may or may not be on your actual birth DATE, but it’s always within 24 hours or so of that date. Mine falls on right on my birthDATE this year—on the 1st of February—but that square is slow-moving enough to still be considered exact. Solar returns are considered to be a chart for that year—from birthday to birthday, and they refer more to psychological and perspective-based circumstances than they do to literal events. If anyone feels otherwise, please feel free to let me know. If you’d like to try it out for yourself, I’m happy to run a Solar Return report for you for $10—or for free if it’s your first report order! Anyway—Solar Returns describe your psychology and perspective for the coming year—and if I’m correct in my presumptions about this second touch to the Saturn-Pluto square (meaning: if I haven’t been corrected by a sudden onset of horrific events prior to the 31st/1st) then I think I’m okay with that. I’m feeling productive and positive, and even though big changes are on the way, I feel that they’re taking me where I should ultimately be, and where I would choose to go. We’ll know by the next podcast how this feeling has panned out, so stay tuned… So—Sunday the 31st: A busy and productive Virgo moon has kicked in by 5:25am PST this morning, which, coupled with an opposition to Jupiter at 10:20am means that you might try to take on a few too many Weekend Warrior tasks this morning. Don’t worry—a momentary feeling of overload will pass, and by noon you should be feeling good about the progress you’ve made. The Saturn-Pluto square is exact at 1:30pm PST, and we’re clear for the day, keeping in mind the wholly transformative effects of this square on the entire structure and nature of our lives. So there. And finally, starting the week off on February 1st—Happy Birthday to me—well, naturally, thanks to the continued Virgo moon, my positive intentions and my friend Alexis, I’m working today, as is only fitting. A trine to Mercury at 11:15am PST says that a great conversation takes place, or some good news comes in (a happy text, maybe?) and it’s busy busy busy till a surprise or inspiration takes the stage at 8:15pm before the moon goes Void of Course for the rest of the evening. I guess that inspiration runs away with us—but don’t get too involved—any actions after this time will see no results, no consequences of course… Ah---and as I turn the calendar pages to look at the first week of February, I’m starting to get an idea of why this Big Nasty Square is feeling better than it should on its own—and of course, I’m hoping my own optimism doesn’t send me freefalling down into that fire under the frying pan… But more on that in the next podcast…nothing to fear in the meantime, of course. Hi everybody, and welcome to It's Planetary! It"s Monday January
18, 2010. I'm Heather Burdette, reminding you that "You"re not crazy—it's
planetary!” I promise… Before we dive in, I just want to remind you that anytime is a great time to order a personal transit report, to discover how all the planetary aspects I talk about in the podcasts will be affecting you personally! These reports are very reasonably priced, and can provide even more information to go along with the forecasts you get from me here each week. If you"d like to get more in-depth, I’m also available for personal readings by phone, Skype or email—we can discuss your general outlook, forecast, relationship, or anything else you have on your mind. There’s a coupon code, valid for $10 off the price of personal readings, at the end of the podcast so stay tuned! It’s also a great time to tell a friend about It’s Planetary! You might be surprised how many people are willing to entertain the idea of astrology! So—that’s two eclipses past, and months to go before the next batch, so hopefully we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. I think I might’ve had it right—at least on a personal level—for this last eclipse last Friday. Mine eclipse experience was actually very lovely, which is lucky, since it fell right on my Descendant and could have been VERY interesting if the eclipse itself were more destructive in nature. But I’m sure the devastation in Haiti hasn’t escaped your notice—and that’s an eclipse event of a very different nature indeed. Yes, I do think it was related to the eclipse—keep in mind that this was a Solar eclipse, and solar eclipses seem to reflect events that are global in nature. Of course, it is very much personal for any of the victims of the Port-au-Prince earthquake—but keep in mind that life is very much YOUR movie, your experience. In this case, the earth-shattering events happened far away, and since they do, from our perspective, they fall into the global news sphere. I’ll come back to that in a second… But yes—I did have what I would define as an eclipse event, as tiny as it was. I was babysitting the Pickle all afternoon, and our errands were at least initially cancelled due to rain and cold. But after a while, the sun came out unexpectedly, and I bundled the Pickle into the car and off we went. I got to the stop sign at the end of our street, and without any particular reason, made an unusual decision to turn right instead of left—left being the usual path to the freeway to town, etc. Thanks to that one small decision that came out of nowhere in particular, I witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in years, thanks to the rain-washed air, low-hanging fluffy clouds, and the snow on the peaks around the Las Vegas valley. The air was so crisp, so clean, and the mountains seemed much closer than our usual layer of smog lets them appear, and everything was like looking at it through a crystal lens. Even more, there were not one, not two, but THREE rainbows pouring like gold down onto the floor of the valley—and all of these breathtaking sights would have missed me completely had I taken the normal route down the highway. I had time to drive slowly and enjoy them on my not-so-little side streets, to pull into a turn lane and shoot a photo or two, time to point them out to the Pickle in his car seat in the back. It sounds silly, but this pure, crystal-clear beauty brought me to tears that afternoon—I say that I wept, but in reality, I fought back sobs. I can’t tell you what affected me so profoundly, so I think that it was this, combined with the energy of the eclipse. That eclipse was strongly aspected by Venus & Uranus, remember? I haven’t been touched that deeply by such spontaneous beauty in a very long time, despite seeing some amazing sights in just the last year. That wasn’t all, of course—as we were driving along, I had some things on my mind, and seeing the rainbows and the brilliant beams of orange light painting the mountains around the valley at precisely that point rather framed those thoughts in beams of near-rapturous joy. Of course it’s THAT that brought me to tears…but still—it’s a very tame "eclipse event” when compared to other possibilities. I may not have seen the end of it yet—as I mentioned last week, some eclipses hit exactly this way—with only small bursts of intensity—but then become activated in later weeks or months as other planets make transits to the eclipse degree. We’ll see, I guess. I’m happy with my event as it stands right now. So what was yours? Care to share? So—Haiti. Yes, that definitely qualifies as an eclipse event as well—and the earthquake occurred precisely in that window from the 12th-15th that I told you to watch out for, though granted, that’s technically a pretty big window. The reason I was pointing you toward the 12th, however—as opposed to the eclipse date of the 15th itself—is that I fully expected that Uranus, receiving aspects from Venus and the Sun on the 13th & 14th, would kick something off. Uranus energy and eclipse energy are very similar. And earthquakes are very much Uranus-related. But a 7.0 event in a country that could afford it even less than we could here at home would seem to go against the warm-n-fuzzy Sun & Venus vibe I was touting last week—so what happened? Well, you might recall that I mentioned but strongly backed off of the Saturn-Pluto square last week. Yes—that’s very much in play right now, as it comes back for its second touch on January 31st. Involving two such slow-moving planets, we’re easily within the window of influence, and in fact, we WILL be within this window one way or another for many more months. But this eclipse, touched ever so slightly by Mercury coming within two degrees of the Big Square, brought news of exactly the type of devastation that the Square itself describes. You might recall even further back, to a podcast sometime in October, before the first exact touch of the Saturn-Pluto square, that I mentioned that the Saturn-Pluto square would indeed cause events that could have those of us left blessedly unaffected muttering silent prayers of gratitude under our breaths for that fact, even as we sent sympathies and funds to those who were. And here we are, sending prayers to Haiti, and most certainly feeling guiltily thankful that it wasn’t OUR city that was hit. There’s no shame in that—it’s human. But of course, it’s mitigated somewhat if we DO offer prayers and aid to those who WERE affected, as I’m certain that you, a listener of this podcast, are likely doing, since Jupiter has just moved into Pisces, ensuring that we feel each other’s pain, no matter how far away… So. That was the eclipse then. But we’re left with the Saturn-Pluto square, still to hit at least two more times before we’re clear (I have to check my facts—there might be a third yet to come, too). BUT -the good news that I have to share with you is that I discovered a fantastic resource not only of astrological education and information, but of specific instructions to deal with this Big Nasty that is only going to get bigger and nastier as 2010 progresses. I’ll post links in the text on Facebook and Libsyn, but for those of you who listen only, Google astrologer Donna Cunningham. You’ll find SO many great resources on her site, all put both succinctly and with a fantastic sense of humor, but relevant to my line here is her series on Surviving the Saturn-Pluto square. Please PLEASE do yourself a favor and check it out—you’ll be glad you did—and please tell her I sent you, since I’ll be dropping her a fan letter to end all fan letters after I post this 'cast…

So—having directed you away from my page (ooofff…) I hope you’re still listening for this week’s forecast! If so—here it is, with no further delay… Again, it’s Monday, January 18, 2010. This morning continues the Pisces moon that started at 10:25pm PST or so last night, and the Pisces is seriously flowing right now, since Jupiter just moved into this uber-feeling sign yesterday as well. As I also mentioned last week, Astrogrrl and some of my other favorite pages on Facebook have articles on this, so I’ll save an in-depth exploration for a slow week sometime in the future. This, while not an eclipse week, is still not a slow week… So this Monday morning, we’re likely to be ready to stay in dreamland as long as we can, thanks to the whole Pisces vibe we’re bathing in for a while, but as soon as Venus moves into Aquarius at 6:35am Pacific, information and the greater world will capture our dreams and our waking minds, and off we go—stunning and being stunned by all the miscellany of the world for weeks to come. A spark of good news thanks to all this networking comes at 10:50am, and the rest of the day is spent a bit dreamy-headed but tuned IN. As an Aquarius well into her progressed Pisces, it’s a PERFECT place to be… There’s a mild overnight bump at 2:20am PST, which tells me we might wake up for some reason around this time, and have to get a drink of water, adjust the ear plugs or the blanket, but with any luck, we’re off to dreamland again soon enough. Tuesday is still awash in that "were you saying something?” Pisces vibe that I do love so much, but today the Sun joins Venus in Aquarius, so despite the lack of direction on a momentary basis, our brains are at full attention. I’ll have lots to say about Aquarius in the next few weeks, I hope—because despite its being my own sign, it’s one that rather defied definition for me my whole life until only recently. As signs go though—and bearing in mind that I’m totally partial, though that’s only a recent phenomenon—it’s a good one. When the Sun (and Venus) are here, we find it much easier to give each other breathing space—in fact, we hardly even THINK about it, so consumed do we become with our projects. If you rate anyone’s “list” you can count on hearing from a myriad of people over the coming weeks or longer even, as Mercury will eventually make its way into Aquarius, too—and if there’s anything we Aquarians do, it’s maintain a mailing list, and find a reason to utilize it just when you think we’ve forgotten you… Tuesday would be a slow day, meaning there are no planetary aspects to speak of, really—but with this new Aquarius stuff going on, I think your To Do list will suddenly grow legs. Suffice it to say that there are no planetary obstacles today…aside from your personal aspects, of course. And in fact, the whole week begins to relax as we Snap To—Wednesday starts in a moon void left over from 10:05pm Monday night, ending when the moon moves into Get Up & Go Aries at 10:35am Wednesday morning. Aquarius tends to judge Aries a little too selfish, sure—but these two signs are fast friends in truth, and boy will you EVER get up and go once that Aries moon kicks in this morning. I’d warn you here against being so self-absorbed with your own personal intellectual inspirations that you offend others but A) Mercury is still in Capricorn, so you won’t, and B) the Sun & Venus are in Aquarius, so everyone ELSE is too self-absorbed in their own intellectual inspirations to notice. Ha! Wednesday in general is a little kiddie coaster of ups and downs (mostly ups—yay!) but my own Mercury in Capricorn wants me to warn you about a minor bit of intensity at 6:30pm Pacific, potentially followed by a few moments of “downer” at 7:40pm. (The good news is that the “downer” moments could also be moments of heavy concentration, and that’s supported by all the Aquarius stuff in the sky, so aim for that instead…) Night owls on the west coast will find themselves in a bit of a communication kerfuffle at 1:25am Thursday morning, but I’ll be mid-tradeshow and sleeping through it. For sure. Thursday January 21st is still fully in that Aries moon-Aquarius Sun vibe, so we’re busy busy busy and the pace picks up even more around noon Pacific, when events actually seem to be flowing in the direction we want for a while…In fact, they might just flow that way all day, even if you’re addressing older concerns, since the Aquarian Venus trines retrograde Saturn in Libra tonight around 10pm. Thursday is an excellent day for making connections, reconnecting with friends and acquaintances from the past or recent past, and for getting things done in general. Woo-hoo! Coming to Friday the 22nd of January, we wake up with that Rarin’ to Go Aries moon for the last time for a month or so, and happy morning aspects to Chiron and Neptune tell me we might still be basking in the afterglow of all yesterday’s accomplishments. The moon goes VOC with that kiss to Neptune at 11:45am PST, so you might as well phone in that office job for the rest of the day. You’ll stay plenty busy, sure—but none of it will matter later. I’d go play outside if I were you… The more stubbornly determined Taurus moon kicks in Friday night at 8:40pm, and it makes a lovely kiss to Jupiter at 10:50pm, so Friday looks like a sweet night, whether you’re out or in. In might be better suited to the vibe overall, since it’ll be fairly quiet and smooth—but I suppose that depends on what sort of “out” vibe you prefer. West Coasters should try to be in bed before 2:55am Saturday morning though—there’s a grumpy beat just then. Saturday the 23rd is another kiddie-coaster of ups and downs that pass within hours, and it’s still a Taurus moon day, so overall, we’ll keep at a productive and meticulous pace today. That’s aided further by the Sun’s trine to Saturn Sunday morning, which tells me that at least part of our detail work both Saturday and Sunday is related to the arts, and/or to the delicate maintenance of precious relationships. Sunday afternoon will likely be disrupted by a down-swing in the vibe—someone’s feelings get hurt, or you’re feeling way-tired, and that spills into a delusion of weakness that will last until bedtime. By that, I mean that it DOESN’T pass until after you’re asleep, unless you say up till 3:10 the next morning. Don’t bother. It’s all an illusion—just go to bed Sunday night—it shouldn’t color your weekend. Monday morning January 25th dawns in a quirky Gemini mood that gets off to a mildly rough start, and despite a smile at 1:15pm Pacific, this whole day is about making adjustments to plans and communications. It’s not heavy or serious, truly—but it is just about the whole day. I personally will be making a sincere effort to not let it get to me, as should you—you don’t want to set the tone for the week that way, and don’t forget—it’s up to YOU. There are other little battles on for the following week, but more on that in the next podcast…nothing to fear in the meantime, of course.

Hi everybody, and welcome
to It's Planetary! It"s Tuesday, January 12, 2010. I’m Heather Burdette,
reminding you that "You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise…
Before we dive in, this first month of the new year is a great time to order a personal transit report, to discover how all the planetary aspects I talk about in the podcasts will be affecting you personally! These reports are very reasonably priced, and can provide even more information to go along with the forecasts you get from me here each week. If you’d like to get more in-depth, I’m also available for personal readings by phone, Skype or email—we can discuss your general outlook, forecast, relationship, or anything else you have on your mind. There’s a new coupon code, valid for $10 off the price of personal readings, at the end of the podcast so stay tuned! It’s also a great time to tell a friend about It’s Planetary! Who couldn’t use some guidance, eh?
Well gang, this is a busy week in the sky—which translates to a busy week down here on the ground, too, of course. “As above, so below…” as they always say—but longtime It’s Planetary listeners will know that naturally, the reverse is implied as well. After all, those heavenly bodies are not DIRECTING us, they’re reflecting us!
And if we look up to see our reflection this week, we’ll see a very pretty face looking intently back at us. Excuse my waxing even more prosaic (I’m still swimmy-head exhausted from long days at CES last week) but the message that this beautiful face holds in its eyes is “Are you ready for a whole new world?”
If you’ve been listening over the last few weeks, you know that we’re in eclipse season, which means that big, unexpected changes are on the way—usually accompanied by high stress, high tension, and waaayy too many items on the agenda that must be handled NOW. (Or at least they feel that way…) Most of us will have a very specific event that falls sometime in the days leading up to the eclipse in the early morning hours of Thursday the 15th—and my money is on the window from the 12th to the 15th. Which is the greater portion of this week, I’m sure you’ll notice.
Now, I tend to stress (no pun intended) the level of tension and anxiety that comes with eclipses—nearly everyone seems to feel or become victim to the almost electric vibration that builds and builds before eclipses. In fact, this is one of the main reasons I started doing these podcasts and such—eclipses come in pairs two or three times a year on average, and they can be SO disruptive that people seriously begin to question their sanity. Just remember: You’re not crazy—it’s planetary! This WILL pass…
Of course, that’s not to say that there won’t be lasting effects from any given eclipse event—there will be; some immediate, some down the road, some both immediate AND long-lasting. One of my favorite examples of an eclipse event was one that occurred about three years ago. I’ve mentioned this one before I think, but it sticks out because it not only literally smacked me in the face, but it’s one of the ones that really brought eclipses and their sudden “events” to my attention in general. In March or February of 2007, I was still working as a stiltwalker at the Show in the Sky at the Rio, when a lunar eclipse was building to hit across my 6th/12th house axis. This would mean that whatever event occurred would take place in my subconscious, behind-the-scenes or behind my back in one way or another, or that it could affect my physical health, day-to-day routines, or my job. I think even back then I was very conscious of setting intention around events, to sort of “control” how they hit my life—especially if there was damage looming up ahead, so I’m sure that I was putting attention on this eclipse NOT getting me fired due to repeated tardiness (hi Katey!), NOT about falling from my stilts or the flying horse I rode as well, NOT about having any sort of incident with a guest, and so on. I recall telling the other performers in the show that all the building tension and stress was “planetary” and due to the eclipse, etc, so I might have even thought that by spreading the word about the eclipse in my workplace (6th hse) I was taking care of the issue. Heh heh heh…I wasn’t even feeling the tension leading up to that eclipse—just SEEING it around me. I attributed that to the 12th hse element: out of my sight. Instead, I was actually be-bopping around, having a pretty good time in life!
And then—sometime in the week leading up to the eclipse, maybe even the day or two before it—I had just taken off my stilts, tucked the hems of my long, spandex costume pants into my waist, and gone running for the elevator when it hit me: the FLOOR, that is. In a flash, one leg of my pants slipped out of my waistband, under my foot, and as I was running on the polished concrete floor, I went down like I was on an icy sidewalk. It happened so fast that I didn’t even have a split second to register that I was falling. One second I’m running, and the next, I’m down on the floor, with my red wig hair half flipped over my head, which was inches from the floor that had just hit me in the face REALLY HARD. The impact of my face on the concrete cut me open on the brow bone over my left eye, so blood was dripping onto the floor below me as I sat there, propped up on my hands, everything around me hidden by my veil of candy-apple red wig hair, still not quite sure what happened. I yelled out to the clowns (yes, actual clowns) who were yelling at me to come on already from the elevator, and they came running. Long story short, I was whisked off to the worker’s comp clinic, stitched up, and told to stay home from work for a week. It was all pretty surreal to me, I guess partly because it happened so fast. The funny thing was—it didn’t affect my mood in the slightest. I stayed totally upbeat and happy with life the whole time. But I struggled with fatigue and vertigo for that whole week at home before it hit me that I’d had a HEAD injury. Heh heh. So bizarre.
Then, on like my second or third day home, on the day of the eclipse itself, I got a phone call from my friend Jodi—one of my long-time supporters in astrology. Given what I’d observed among my workmates leading up to the eclipse, along with my own VERY clear “event,” and the fact that Jodi usually called when something crazy was going on overhead, when I saw her number on my phone, I didn’t even say Hello. When I hit the answer button and put the phone to my ear, the first words out of my mouth were, “it’s an eclipse.” There was silence at the other end of the phone for several beats. Then a long stretch of full-chest laughter. That’s kind of when I knew I was really onto something. Astrology is real.
THAT’S rather a lasting effect, wouldn’t you say? There were others, of course—a very tiny scar in my left eyebrow, along with permanent numbness in the area (the injury wasn’t all that painful, actually—since I think it severed a minor nerve instantly!) But the most lasting effect was my slow post-accident realization that I was really ready to be done doing that show. I’d already been thinking of leaving Vegas for a long time, but my love for that job held me here. Falling, while NOT on my stilts, had the very unexpected result of helping me realize that I was tired of relying so heavily on my body, and tired of doing slow damage to my spine, knees, and hip joints by wearing the heavy stilts 7 shows a day 5 days a week. This had been cooking in my subconscious for a long time, but I loved the job so much that I couldn’t face it. Hear that? I couldn’t FACE it. Ha ha!!
Anyway—DON’T PANIC. THIS week’s eclipse is nothing like that one. I don’t think THIS week’s eclipse is even anything like the one we had back on New Year’s Eve—which seemed to be about overcrowding/overload/overblown frustrations for every case I had the privilege to observe. This coming eclipse, on Thursday the 14th at 11:15pm for those of us on the West coast, and on Friday the 15th at 2:15am on the East coast—THIS one looks very good, very positive, and very happy, even. But there could still be a lot of TENSION leading up to it, depending on your personal circumstances.
On top of that eclipse, we have Mercury coming to a dead standstill again, about to return to direct motion, and allowing us to get on with our lives once more instead of handling organizational and information-related tasks that got overlooked in the mad dash leading up to Christmas. And there’s some other stuff, too, so let’s just go ahead and dive in to this week’s whole forecast…
Again, it’s Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Yesterday’s conjunction between the Sun and Venus was both a lazy and a productive day for me, which makes sense given the “mmm, that feels good” element of Venus and the “get the work DONE” element of Capricorn, where this meeting took place. Throw in a lazy Sagittarius moon, and I stayed in pajamas all day, still recovering I guess from the manic pace and very long days of CES over the weekend—but making some great strides toward new work for the future via the computer.
The Sadge moon is still with us as we wake up this morning, and the one small bump of the day comes right as we do wake up, when the moon squares Uranus to bring a small but unpleasant surprise at 7:50am Pacific. From there on out though, the day is just lovely—another great one for getting outside and/or enjoying the company of good friends. There’s a short VOC from 6:45pm Pacific till the moon shifts into busy Capricorn at 8:55pm, so enjoy a hearty dinner and a nice little food coma during that window.
Sometime this evening, there will be a truly heartwarming surprise of some kind—a something unexpected that is bigger than finding a twenty in the pocket of that coat you haven’t worn in a while. Venus is sextiling Uranus—an aspect that the Sun will repeat tomorrow. These links make each element of this week more significant than they might ordinarily be, so we’ll need to look at them in one big blur, so to speak. We’ll come back to that later…
Wednesday is the first full day in the Capricorn moon, and it’s a busy one. That unexpectedly happy Venus-Uranus kiss is lingering in the air, but the morning itself will be a bit rough. Getting down to business and getting it done won’t be easy this morning, and while it’s minor in terms of aspects, it’s related to certain on-going problems you’re facing in general, since this is about the moon activating that Saturn-Pluto square we’ve got hanging over us for a good while. In directly-related news, Saturn, ruler of Capricorn (where Pluto is hanging out these days, thumbing his nose at Saturn in that frustration-inducing square) also comes to a dead stop today, turning retrograde at 7:55am Pacific.
Whooo. Okay—this is pretty big, really. Normally, I’d say that Saturn going retrograde is nice. I usually see it that way, anyway—since wherever Saturn’s hanging out, issues are heavy and no fun at all. But Saturn is in Libra right now, where, as I mentioned last week—he’s turning out to be surprisingly balanced and fairness-oriented! True students of astrology won’t be surprised at all, since Saturn is considered to be exalted in Libra, meaning that he functions more elegantly and such. But my natural skepticism and “SHOW me” nature is always in play, so I was waiting to see how it felt for myself. Sure enough—elegant, concerned with balance and compromise in one-to-one relationships, and even quite comfortable. Words I NEVER thought I’d associate with Saturn. So, when a planet turns retrograde, it’s effects are reduced (at least on an external-awareness level)—which gives me some concern that these very elements might go on a vacation for a while. Just when things were going so well, too.
Additionally, if you’ve had any contractual negotiations underway, aside from the Mercury retrograde slowing that down, Saturn’s retrograde could very well send you back to the negotiating table. In fact, given the flow of the planets lately, I’d wager that someone involved has recently had a change of mind and/or motivation, and this deal might just crumble back to square one in the coming months, only to be reconstructed if it remains in play at all. Saturn’s retrograde means that we lose discipline, too—we can take it easy for a few months, which is great normally—it’s a welcome reprieve from having your nose held to the sign/house grindstone relative to where it’s transiting your personal chart. But like I said a moment ago, this time the discipline we’re losing is the calm resolve that it takes to come to fair and balanced compromises in one-to-one relationships, as well as the willingness to “be there” for partners and close friends. I think I’d rather not see that one go on vacation… *sigh*
I think we’re already feeling this slow-down of Saturn—though it’s probably hard to separate from the Mercury and Mars retrogrades we’re already enduring. Yes, I hear you—EVERYTHING has slowed down lately—that is, in terms of what’s coming TO us. Our schedules are just as frantic and overloaded as they tend to be leading up to a station of Mercury AND an eclipse—but nothing’s coming IN, is it? I hear ya, and I FEEL ya. I’m right there with you. I’ve been lacking motivation and drive (at least on the physical level) and I’m already feeling my concentration and ability to commit on its way out the door. But we all have to remember that retrogrades, while frustrating our ability to move forward, serve very good functions—allowing us to re-address what we missed before, or allowing us to rethink things completely. Think of it as course-correction, not as frustration, and you’ve won the battle.
Returning to the very busy morning on Wednesday the 13th, the moon meets up with stagnant Mercury in Capricorn, handling one last phone call or bit of business that may or may not wind up making a difference down the line. The Sun also follows on the heels of Venus, to embrace electric and eccentric Uranus in a sweet kiss—so this day is really more about that sweet and happy unexpected event that comes than it is about all the slow-downs happening around us. You’ll stay busy and productive today, handling details out the wazoo—but there is some delightful and significant inspiration to the day overall. My guess and my hope is that this surprise IS your happy eclipse event—decide that it is, and enjoy it. In fact, flashing back to my “whole new world” bit of silliness toward the beginning of this podcast—seriously—think of it that way. If you could redraw your whole world, what would you create? Why not go ahead and write that story? Capricorn will make sure that you include all the proper details, so now is the perfect time…just don’t concern yourself with HOW it all comes about, and you’ll be fine.
Thursday the 14th is another productive day that might get off to a mildly rocky start for east-coasters, and if you haven’t yet had a definitive and happily-surprising eclipse event, you might look for it tonight, when the moon completes the bunched-up planetary kiss to Uranus just three hours before it meets the sun in that new moon solar eclipse. Just two hours later again, the moon meets up with lovely Venus in the middle of the night, which is another reason I think this new moon AND this eclipse are incredibly powerful opportunities to set some strongly POSITIVE intentions for the future. This should all bring some wonderful ideas or inspirations to you—truly powerful creative stuff, to be sure. Make sure you take the time to write it all down so it can work even more strongly for you with the universe.
Frankly though, I don’t think you’ll forget to write it down, as Mercury comes to that dead stop Friday morning, January 15th, right on top of that still-fresh eclipse. For one reason or another, there IS plenty of time and space to get your thoughts and words down on paper or captured in one form or another—and when you do that, it’s like watching the waiter write down your order for that piled-high burger. You KNOW you’re going to get it. The moon is VOC in Capricorn (wiped out from all that powerful energy last night, I’m sure) so take some moments in the calm this morning, and get all those new inspirations and great ideas down. I have a strong feeling that they’re going to work very hard and very well for you later this year and into the future…
The moon steps into Aquarius at 9:15am PST this morning, and we’ll be putting on our multi-tasking hats and enjoying some lighter spirits for the rest of the day. A trine from the moon to Saturn this evening at 6:45pm Pacific gives us a brief but golden opportunity to tie up some loose ends before the weekend.
Saturday the 16th is another all-over-the-map kind of day, and I mean that in the Aquarian sense, not the scattered sense—although to be fair, scattered IS entirely possible. Aquarius is such a hard sign to pin down when it comes to transitory influences, especially. It’s almost one of those things that disappears right when you think you’ve spotted it. Well, it doesn’t actually disappear; it just instantly camouflages itself to match whatever is behind it. Try wrapping THAT concept around the “feel” of a day, and let me know how YOU do with it! In any case, Saturday is very much a day ripe for just about anything you want to do—and the more pals involved, the better. Just mind the bump at 3:15pm PST—someone in your group is playing the Lonely Guy in order to get all the attention. It won’t work.
Now—Sunday the 17th. We’re still in that multi-tasking and multi-faceted Aquarian moon as we wake up, and conjunctions with Wounded Healer Chiron and “we’re SO connected” Neptune this morning and lunchtime indicate that it’s not a sleepy morning—BUT: speaking of dreaminess and major planetary shifts, Jupiter moves into Pisces this evening around 6:10pm Pacific, and that’s just plain big. I think I’ll wait for a future podcast to really get into this, but don’t worry—I’ll refer you to some great articles to tide you over till then before I sign off this week. Suffice it to say that while we’ve been thinking of and idealizing a more equitable and connected version of life over the past year-plus, we’ll actually get to experience some of that in the NEXT year-plus… A dream come true, so to speak. ;-)
Aside from Sunday’s potentially event-filled morning, as of 12:25pm, it’s a dreamy, nothing-gets-done sort of day that shifts ever so slightly when the moon ends the void-of-course period by joining Jupiter in Pisces just moments after the Big Guy moves into his new sign. Results and consequences are back on the menu as of 10:25pm PST Sunday night, but it’s still a very slow-moving, dreamy sort of evening.
Monday the 18th you’ll be drifting along in such a lovely (and mindless?) state of mind—but if you can, pay attention to your thoughts and feelings. They won’t all belong to YOU, but will be coming from outside of you much more than you’re accustomed to. For some people, this will be really cool—like how we get those little tingles of excitement when we realize that we KNEW who was on the phone a full beat before it rang and such. For some people, those who dismiss all “connection” and “feeling” nonsense wholesale—they might suddenly find themselves very lost and confused. ALL of us will need to, over the course of the next year, learn how to differentiate between ourselves and the outside world.
Today though, it will probably feel just awesome—Venus joins the planetary circus by moving into shape-shifting Aquarius, making our networks feel very comfortable and inspiring. You might oversleep your alarm Monday the 18th, but aside from that, it’s a pretty awesome day I think. Oh, the things you’ll dream up, starting today…
So let’s review quickly: Starting on Monday January 11th, the Sun & Venus link elbows to start off a lovely and powerful week. They line up for kisses with electric, surprising, and inspiring Uranus on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then going into a powerful new moon eclipse on Thursday. If we blur our eyes a little and put all of these things together, we can see that this Eclipse Event is going to be a good bit more surprisingly pleasant and happy than we usually think of them being. And that’s just fabulous… Saturn joins Mars and Mercury in going retrograde, which on the one hand, gives us plenty of time to slow down and enjoy the new inspirations that come from the eclipse, and on the other, continues the “no action” slow-down of our lives. In other words, whatever great news or developments come from this eclipse, they probably won’t kick in in earnest for several more months—at least until March, I’d wager, if not longer. Mercury stations on Friday, and at very least, we can start making firm plans again instead of going over old business—perfect, since following the eclipse, we likely have some firm plans that need making. And Jupiter moves into Pisces on Saturday, followed by Venus and the Sun shifting into Aquarius at the start of next week, positively connecting all of us in ways that we haven’t felt in a very long time… The collective mind begins its rule, and we’ll all be able to get our brains around it, rather astonishingly.
That’s a good thing, too—all this new inspiration, positive intention-setting, and new inter-connectedness will be the good luck charms in our pockets when things get rough later this year. I think we’ll be in good stead when those times come—linked arm-in-arm together, and ready to make the rough times work in our collective favor.
But more on that in the next podcast… If you’d like even more information on all the many planetary events this week, you can check out my friend Astrogrrl’s stuff at astrogrrl.com or astrocreepsandtarotfreaks.com—she has great individual articles on the eclipse, Jupiter’s move into Pisces, and more. I spent part of today getting ready to write this podcast by reading her articles along with some from AstroSparkles and Ellen Zucker and other great astro-pals I follow on Facebook and Twitter. I hope I’ve done a good job of distilling the information for you, and helping you to apply it to YOUR life.

Happy New Year everybody,
and welcome to It's Planetary! It"s Monday January 4, 2010. I’m Heather
Burdette, reminding you that "You’re not crazy—it’s planetary!” I promise…
Before we dive in, this first week of a new year is a great time to order a personal transit report, to discover how all the planetary aspects I talk about in the podcasts will be affecting you personally! Well—here we are. 2010. Ahhhh, that feels better already, doesn’t it? I don’t know about you, but that eclipse on the 31st turned out to be fairly manageable, huh? I mean, I got what I assumed was my “eclipse event” (and I think I functioned as the “eclipse event” for Jozef, too) when I went a little stir-crazy the weekend before the eclipse itself. If I recall correctly, that’s when we started getting the foiled acts of terrorism on airplanes and Times Square as well—classic eclipse events, especially with the Saturn-Pluto square hanging out for many more months. I know from other people that they got their “hit” around the same time as me (when Venus met up with the Saturn-Pluto square last Sunday and Monday) and still others who got it on the day of the eclipse itself—breaking up with partners suddenly, and so forth.
The one thing that became clear to me as my event passed and I was seeing others going through theirs—this was about dramas and legitimate issues that got seriously overblown due to the slow buildup of intense, almost electrifying tension leading up to the eclipse itself. For me, it was about space. I literally needed physical space due to certain temporary (but still on-going) circumstances in my household. Ironically, spending time outdoors didn’t quite do it for me. What did was finally giving myself some mental space by allowing myself to consider an escape route. Fully aware that I don’t have to act on it—I just started exploring the options. And that, combined with a well-timed rescue by my husband, who whisked me away to a nice quiet evening, seemed to do the trick.
This first of two current eclipses landed in the 12th house for both me and Jozef—and in addition to the surface tension around us, we both noticed particularly vivid and detailed dreams leading up to the event. SERIOUSLY detailed, I mean—as in everywhere I looked in my dreams, there was STUFF. They were filled with STUFF, clutter everywhere—and people, so many people, and events one right after another. Jozef’s seemed to fall in line with this as well. Think I was feeling a little crowded? Heh heh heh
Anyway—that one is past, no harm was done (in my case, thankfully) and we’ve got just under two weeks till the next one, which also happens to coincide with Mercury turning direct again, and several planets changing signs. Looks like that solar eclipse will be fairly crowded, too.
In the meantime though, aside of course from the tension that will again begin to build as we get closer and closer to the solar eclipse on the 15th of January, things are fairly quiet. Keep in mind that your next eclipse event could come anytime between now and the 15th, but I’d look pretty hard at the 13th—big surprises that day, and that certainly makes sense with another eclipse looming.
Anyway—let’s roll back to the present day and see what’s going on for all of us this week. Again, it’s Monday, January 4, 2010. We start the day in the Virgo moon that just began last night, and that, plus the meeting between the Sun and Mercury this morning, tells me that we’re all ready to get back to work in earnest after all the fun, tension, and general nuttiness of the holidays. Mercury is still retrograde (wonder why your texts and emails keep getting lost or sent three times each?) so it’s meeting the Sun on the backward journey—which means A) that we’re halfway through the retrograde period -woo-hoo!! and B) that some particularly important bit of business that got left hanging in the lead-up to the holidays is finally answered now—or at least readdressed…
Whatever it is, it looks like it’s good news, because today is just filled with lovely little trines from the busy Virgo moon to the business-minded planets in Capricorn, including Venus, Mercury, and the Sun. This makes sense of course—since Mercury moves past the Sun only to run into Venus about 14 hours later. That’s middle of the night here on Pacific time—2:40am. But you can look for a truly lovely bit of news or information, a fantastic and creative idea, and/or a particularly happy conversation before you go to bed Monday night. If you’re a comedian of any sort, tonight is the night you’ll be full of wicked zingers—this little meeting is happening in Capricorn, and while this is a sign that’s usually considered very serious and stoic, it has the Earth signs’ sarcastic sense of humor, and is the best at the one-liner. Joke-filled evening or not, sweet dreams will be yours tonight…
You’re still in a productive mindset as you wake up Tuesday morning, but a surprise that comes along at 9:25apm Pacific might upset the applecart. Doesn’t look too serious to me, but the rest of the day is spent making irritating little adjustments, and the moon is VOC until it sails into harmonious and charming Libra at 9pm PST. Get yourself to bed early though—that shiny happy moon will start a fight with powerful Pluto at 3:00am, which we could feel as early as midnight.
Wednesday morning January 6 starts on a firmly even keel, I’d wager. The Libra moon conjuncts Saturn in Libra, and as we’re discovering with Saturn’s stay in this sign, it’s a surprisingly good combination. Fairness, compromises worked out in a reasonable tone, and balance are on your mind or in your experience this morning. Later in the afternoon, the charm wears thin on Mercury, and someone doesn’t want to sign on the dotted line. The rest of the day is clear, but west coasters who get to bed post-midnight might be feeling ever so slightly pumpkin-like…
Thursday morning starts out pretty clear, too—and a seriously minor surprise just before 2pm Pacific is quickly wrapped up with a band-aid, and the rest of the afternoon and evening is quite pleasant. The last aspect of the day is a trine from the moon to Jupiter at 10:05pm Pacific—a moment of happy indulgence to be sure—and then the moon is VOC till after bedtime. A point of note here is Venus’ inconjunct to Mars in the wee hours of Friday morning—we might experience a strong sense of agitation Thursday night that’s somehow based in our or someone else’s need for attention. This might also wait until Friday morning to play out—so be aware of this as you start your day on Friday the 8th. I’ll be halfway through a tradeshow marked by terribly long days, so I’m going to have to put some intention around where I want this overnight irritation to manifest, otherwise I’m sure I’ll face some insomnia thanks to one needy and loud orange cat…
A Scorpio moon kicks in overnight as well—and that jibes nicely with Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) currently hanging out in Capricorn. Business gets done Friday morning, thanks to everyone having a great deal of intensive focus. Make yourself available at 6:30pm Friday evening (9:30pm Eastern)—there’s a tiny window of opportunity for some information you’ve been waiting for to come in.
That Scorpio moon is still with us Saturday morning, January 9th, and its intensity is a bit too much for Mars, still retrograde in Leo. In other words, you or someone you know will be cranky around 9:25am Saturday. If you’re off this weekend, plant an extra pillow beside you before you go to bed Friday night, so you can put it over your head when someone nearby is screaming for attention Saturday morning. Aside from a cranky wake-up (or a cranky lunchtime for the east coast) Saturday looks pretty smooth—sextiles from the moon to Venus and the Sun have us all feeling very grounded this afternoon. All is well until about 9:30pm, when the moon trines Uranus. Now—trines are very good—we like to see them. But when Uranus is on the receiving end, it might mean an unexpected window of opportunity for the WRONG thing to happen. I wouldn’t normally give this read, but since the moon goes on to square wounded Chiron in Aquarius just over 30 minutes later, something tells me WE’RE feeling wounded as a result of that surprise. Or lonely, perhaps. Go ahead and go to bed. You might start to believe that everything is a wash not long after midnight Pacific if you stay up too late.
Oh, right—and it’s a night out for the rest of the world (as opposed to me, who will most certainly crash early that night after three long days at CES…) so let’s translate Saturday night’s aspects once more for you: There is a surprise event at 9:30pm Pacific—it could be good, it could be bad. Either way, not long after, you’re feeling a little hurt or under the weather. Unless the building eclipse matches up with your personal aspects to kick in WAY early, this little series should all be relatively minor. But with an eclipse cooking on the back burner, I don’t want to assume. If you’re out tonight, you fairly guaranteed to be more drunk than you realize just past midnight—or someone’s line will slip through your normal radar and you might just find yourself falling for some ripe BS.
You might want to keep that extra pillow handy for Sunday morning, January 10th. Speaking of crowded, you’ll probably find yourself in the midst of just a few too many people around 7am Pacific. This won’t necessarily make you cranky—but it will likely be a bit too much somehow. And it doesn’t get much better until the moon ends the VOC by climbing gamely into Sagittarius at 10:10am Pacific. Sadge can handle the crowd, if it’s still around. If not, you’ll be ready to get outside and enjoy the day, whatever the weather.
All the rest of Sunday is fairly clear—the only aspect is a little kiss from the moon to Saturn, still fairly amiable (for him) in Libra of course. Sunday is a good day. Contributing to that is the conjunction of the Sun and beautiful Venus in Capricorn early Monday afternoon by the Pacific coast. This meeting will likely be a bit more serious and focus than a meet-up between the Sun and Venus might be in other signs—but I’m sure there’ll also be some of that awesome Capricorn sense of humor, too. Regardless, Monday January 11 looks as lovely and pretty as the Sunday before it, and it’s a great start to the week. Good thing, too—because that eclipse comes at the end…
But more on that in the next podcast…

Tue, 29 December 2009
Hi and welcome to It's
Planetary! It"s Monday December 28, 2009. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding you
that "You’re not crazy—it’s planetary”!
Hey gang—last week I posted a forecast that covered this week as well, but since I personally have a short attention span, I thought you might appreciate if we cut it down a bit for reposting this week. Same info as last week, in other words, but we cut off the old stuff and start with today, Monday, December 28, 2009:
Today gets off to a mildly bumpy start—for west-coasters, the alarm goes off too early (or not at all?) and/or the cat bounces off your head around 5:05-5:15am. For east-coasters just arriving at work, you’ll have a groan as you suddenly remember what work you left sitting over the holiday weekend. Your heart isn’t much in it this morning, and you’ll be moving slowly and maybe even keeping to yourself this morning. There’s some overload of one kind or another at 9:55am Pacific, and the moon goes VOC in Taurus for the rest of the workday.
Chipper Gemini kicks in at 5:15pm Pacific this evening, increasing the pace of the rush hour traffic, but Venus completing the square from Pluto to Saturn tonight means that something is still weighing heavily on your heart tonight. “Why can’t I just be happy?” I don’t know—but you won’t be tonight… This is a good time to remember that it’s temporary if it’s something you can’t control.
Tuesday the 29th again requires just a slight adjustment in your breakfast routine, but aside from that, we might just get to enjoy the quick-as-a-dart humor of Gemini today, and get our minds off the heavy stuff for at least a while.
That more upbeat mindset (and lack of concentration) should still be with us on Wednesday the 30th, and trines from the Gemini moon to Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius make it a very pleasant morning and lunchtime—if not necessarily the most productive. Plenty of socializing around the water cooler though—and/or discussing plans for New Year’s Eve. The moon goes VOC at 12:30pm PST, and stays there until 6:45pm, so you might as well stay in that upbeat and social place for the rest of the workday—nothing else has any results. That Cancer moon this evening makes it a warm and cozy night to be at home with your family.
And that brings us to the big day—December 31, 2009. The last day of a year many of us are eager to part ways from. That Cancer moon has us all a bit lower-energy than we’d really like to be on a night like this, but I’m sure we’ll blast through it come hell or high water like we always do. Consider yourself peppered with my usual warnings about such holidays—designate a driver, keep an eye on your mates and your animals, be flexible and kind in all situations, etc—but all those motherly warnings take on a bit more urgency this year when we factor in the LUNAR ECLIPSE that sets in at 11:15am on December 31. Yeah—I sorta forgot about that till now. I mean, I mentioned it in last week’s podcast, and it’s definitely been on my mind as more and more stuff has seemed to pile up recently—but I kinda can’t believe I’m just getting to it now in THIS forecast. Oh well—I’m sure you’ve felt the tension in the last few weeks, and just chalked it up to the holidays. We’ll all be looking to let off a little more steam than usual at this year’s party, and we’ll all be a little more relieved to kiss that old year goodbye. But sometime around this date, we should all be on the lookout for the intense, defining event that always comes with eclipses, and/or the “big, unexpected change.” You might try looking back to July 7th’s lunar eclipse for recurrent themes.
When I look back at that date, all that really stands out is that Jozef and I had just gotten our iPhones. And in the evening on the 31st, there is a big aspect of irritation and adjustment between Mercury and Mars, both of whom are retrograde. Wouldn’t it be wacky--? You know, the serious slow-down the cell networks always experience when everyone starts sending those “Happy New Year!!!” text messages to their entire phone book—wouldn’t it be wacky if THIS year, it didn’t just slow the networks down but blew them out entirely? I’m not saying it would be good, or even funny in the slightest—I want you to be able to call a cab, remember? I’m just saying that I for one wouldn’t be surprised…
In any case—more than ever on this holiday that is ALWAYS fraught with potential for disaster in my opinion—this year more than ever I urge you to have very solid, very SAFE plans in place. Communication, logistics, and travel are going to be an utter nightmare—and I don’t mean in the usual NYE way. Leave nothing to chance if you can avoid it—and have backup plans to your backup plans—including backups to your communications.
Even if you should wind up safe at home, or at an all-night house party where no one’s moving around—pay particular attention to those firecrackers, and those tempers. Miscommunications will abound, and will likely set off that normally mild-mannered person from whom you LEAST expect an angry outburst. This goes not only for NYE itself, but for the days and week leading up to it. Tensions are incredibly high—you can feel the almost electric vibration in the air. Any spark could set it off, so be ready with a super-quick apology and calm, reassuring (but not patronizing) tone at all times. And Happy New Year…
Not surprisingly, January 1, 2010 is a very quiet day. One last (and hopefully pleasant) surprise at 7:45am Pacific sets off a moon void that lasts until nearly 7pm tonight. There are minor irritations and adjustments all day, but as per a moon void, nothing of consequence. The Leo moon kicks in around 6:40pm Pacific, and while the evening is clear, the closer it gets to midnight, the more likely you are to encounter intense little aggravations. Maybe you should just call your partying over for the weekend and go to bed.
Saturday January 2nd is another lovely Leo moon day, but aside from the inherent balminess that goes with Leo, the “look at me” attitude might be getting under some folks’ skin. It’s nothing major, just a day where things don’t go quite as right as you thought they might. Late night Saturday that either changes, and you’re able to get some action after all (around midnight, Pacific) or you find that you’ve finally pushed someone’s last button and they go off like a rocket. It’s not a major temper flare-up, but with Mars retrograde and the eclipse energy still possibly hanging around, I’d hope for the former circumstance—the sexy one.
That Leo moon is still with us as we wake up Sunday January 3rd, and there’s a slightly bumpy start to the morning as it inconjuncts Uranus at 7:45am and opposes Chiron at 8am. In other words, we wake up to a surprise that shows us an area of our own vulnerability. It’s foggy after that (hangovers, anyone?) and something is once again a bit too much just before 2pm Pacific, as the moon opposes Jupiter and goes VOC for a few hours.
No results, no consequences later, the moon decides to finish up some chores and organizing in Virgo around 6:50pm Sunday night, and the rest of the evening is clear.
In fact, Sunday night or Monday morning just might bring that great idea, the confirmation you’ve been waiting for, or that wonderful phone call you’ve needed—the Sun meets up with Mercury in its retrograde motion, and some bit of information-based business is re-addressed, I think in a positive way—though with both Mercury and Mars retro, it could be ABOUT what has been left unfinished.
Monday the 4th is a happily productive day though, with trines from the moon to Venus, Mercury and the Sun as the day goes along, and even better—in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, January 5th, Mercury meets up with Venus to whisper sweet words in her ear in the dark. Another indication that whatever we’re revisiting today is a pleasant experience.
And that wraps us up for the holiday weeks and takes us all the way into the New Year. Retrogrades, eclipses, and holidays, oh my. Stay safe out there, kids…

Wed, 23 December 2009
Hi and welcome to It's
Planetary! It"s Wednesday December 23, 2009. I’m Heather Burdette, reminding
you that "You’re not crazy—it’s planetary”!
No, I don’t really think it’s the holidays—I get a tiny little wave of sadness every year in October or so, but that’s about it—well before Thanksgiving I’m over it, and happy about the holidays. I’m not so much “feeling” Christmas this year, and those two and a half pages were about how I’m seeing that reflected nearly everywhere I look. Even the most Christmas-y types I know are clearly a little “Bah humbug” this year, so with the recent Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in group-think Aquarius, I was going to talk about that this week.
And then Michele goes and reports a great week last week—really great, apparently—and that shows me both that my original predictions had some weight (thank goodness) and that perhaps what I was seeing reflected around me really was that—a REFLECTION of my own internal discontent, and/or that whatever miracle lay in wait for me was still yet to come.
So I shelved the podcast, decided to let it go TWO days late (gasp!) and start fresh today. And then I got to talk to Lance of SkywatchAstrology.com on the phone—and THAT was awesome. Quiet and semi-reclusive as he is, for me, it was a bit like talking to a rockstar—and while I’m sure he had no intention of doing so, he happened to be the person to screw my nose on straight about what awaits us in 2010. So my outlook improved a bit more. Then I went for a walk, which improved my mood even more, and I had another nice phone call with another member of my family who is perennially depressed but who was actually upbeat and excited about his new job (which I think is going to put him in a much better energy on an on-going basis). And every little event all evening long followed in the same vein of improvement, hope, and optimism—culminating in that “this is it” moment I’d been hoping for, when a friend and I suddenly saw our path unfold in front of us like a red carpet, and literally held hands as we stepped onto it together. It’s not necessarily an easy path—but man, oh man, what a relief to feel like I’m headed the right direction again. In other words, I felt God pat me on the back and whisper in my ear, “I’m here. Go ahead.” THAT’s what I was looking for and not feeling all week last week. I guess Mars had to slow down and come to a stop before I could slow down enough to get there.
We’ll see—things change all the time, and maybe this path will have been just another great idea that never grew legs—but I don’t think so. I feel as protected in this (and frankly, even if it goes nowhere) as I deliberately requested via my intentions last week. Did you remember to set your intentions? It’s not too late. Jupiter and Neptune are still huddled close together for a few more days, and even if you got yours slightly beyond the point of their exact meeting, it’s apparently still very powerful. See your most beautiful, joyful, healthy future, without worrying about how you’ll make it happen. Send your vision and your hope out to God, the Universe, or whatever you call that power we can all feel right now, and trust in its fulfillment.
And most of all, go with the flow and you can’t go wrong. One of my favorite little reminders is one I read in a book called “The Myth of Enlightenment.” It is impossible to step off of your path—it’s impossible to BE off of your path. Every step you take DEFINES your path, every moment. Wherever you go, there you are. Hee hee!
I’m not blowing off the borderline depression I’ve been feeling for months in fits and starts—I think that’s Saturn squaring Pluto, which will be with us for many more months to come. And the recent retrograde turn of Mars is going to keep ALL your steps slow until April-ish, no matter WHAT path you’re on. And there’s certainly other stuff in the forecast for 2010 that concerns me about my personal anxiety level as well as causing my concern for all of us next year. But I’ve set my intentions, asked that I be able to see the right (er—BEST) direction at all forks, asked for the strength to get through and hold onto my faith in the bad times, and based on my personal history—I know that all of this will come to me.
Everything is exactly as it should be, and everything will be okay. It’s not up to me to figure it out—I just have to know that, be in THIS moment, feel and express my gratitude, and not separate myself from other people as much as I’m sometimes inclined to do that—especially when sad, afraid, or lonely. Pain and suffering are no fun, no matter how minor. But expressing our humility, our humanity, how much alike we are at heart despite all the differences we try to create between ourselves—I think these are the keys to experiencing the gifts that the Universe has in store for us.
At least it was for me last weekend. I had to make an ass out of myself to a certain degree (not as though that was the first time in my life—ha!)—I had to admit my fears out loud to another person—to humble myself before them. Not like I walk around thinking I’m special or better than anyone else—I just walk around protecting my flaws and my fears like everyone else does. Revealing our own feet of clay -revealing MY feet of clay was so incredibly and unexpectedly refreshing.
Thankfully, the person I shared my flawed and fearful humanity with was gracious and kind. She didn’t try to solve my problems, or tell me not to be afraid. And most of all, she didn’t (at least seem to) react with apprehension or disgust that a vague acquaintance was being so REAL and so open. In fact, if I recall correctly, I think she may have even thanked me. She was relieved to see that SHE wasn’t alone in HER fears and flaws. And the very next day, my fog began to lift.
Like I said, with the things that are on the way, I don’t know if I’ll stay positive, or if I’ll have to do some sincere work to keep myself on a positive mental path in the coming months. But I do feel pretty darned certain that I am exactly where I should be, having exactly the experiences I should have. And right now—RIGHT NOW—is all that matters.
So—what did you experience last weekend as Mars slowed to a stop, Jupiter and Neptune opened the direct window to God, and the Sun stepped into Capricorn? (That snowstorm back east—I’ll bet THAT caused some inter-human bonding!) What humility & pain did you suffer, how did you cope with it, and did you have moments of clarity and joy so pure that you suddenly understood everything? Tell me your stories—I want to hear them.
And in the meantime, let’s stop reflecting on last weekend and look ahead, eh?
Again, it’s Wednesday December 23, 2009, and I think we’ll go ahead and finish out the year with this podcast—why not?
We’re still in the sensitive and connected Pisces moon that we enjoyed without aspects all day on Tuesday, and today isn’t terribly busy either. A teensy and cranky adjustment to your plans this morning is followed by a pleasant bit of news or information around 10am Pacific, which is followed by a surprise of no particular gender at 1:45pm. Clear skies (with a wink to Lance for another borrowed bit of phrasing) follow for the remainder of the afternoon and evening, but west-coasters might suffer a wee bit of heartburn right around midnight. Maybe you just sneak downstairs for a snack and your favorite Christmas cookies are all gone…It’s no big deal.
There is the possibility for some intense and very serious thinking Wednesday night—the Sun, newly into stern and calculating Capricorn meets up with Pluto Thursday morning at 9:30am Pacific. What I mean is, that late-night snacking disappointment could kick off some obsessing one way or another—but I’m frankly more inclined to think that this won’t really set in until Thursday morning proper. The Moon moves into Aries at 3:40am PST on the 24th, which means we’re all set to jump out of bed and get going this morning—but Aries’ ruler Mars stepping backward now might have us feeling like we’re laced with wet concrete. At very least, there is a matter that requires your intense focus this morning—or that causes an intense situation of some sort. Cold weather- or business-related would be my usual guess. Given that a lot of people DO have to work today—and that all of these aspects hit within minutes of each other around 9:30am Pacific, 12:30pm Eastern—I would STRONGLY urge you to take things slowly and carefully on your way to work this morning, or out and about in general. That Aries moon is going to be acting strangely with Mars in retrograde, and traffic accidents are a very real and serious concern today—as are life-or-death scuffles over the last Elmo doll. Take deep breaths today, and give other people—especially aggressive ones—a WIDE berth. Another small downer-bump a few hours later (related to the events of the morning, I’d wager) but Christmas Eve is clear.
Not that it will necessarily be the warm, joyous occasion we’d prefer, though. Looking ahead to Christmas morning, Venus—beautiful ruler of joy and pleasure—moves into business-minded Capricorn at 10:15am Pacific on Friday the 25th. At 4pm today, the Sun squares heavy Saturn too—so this Christmas morning looks like it’s a bit colder, leaner, and meaner than the holiday really intends. I think we all knew it would be this way—hence the less-Christmas-y feelings all month. I don’t think that this is a serious downer necessarily, but if you were one of the folks in angry accidents yesterday, this might be when the Christmas cheer wears off and you think about what you’re facing. And count on the kids to be super-critical of the gifts this year—even the ones you scrimped and saved for. Try not to hold it against them—they’re just going with the flow. It’s a global vibe. The remainder of Christmas day is a kiddie coaster of ups and downs, but the visions of sugarplums will be with you overnight.
The moon goes VOC with a kiss to happy Jupiter at 3:45am PST on Saturday the 26th, and will remain VOC until after lunchtime Pacific, when it finally moves into steadfast and true Taurus. More kiddie-coaster up and downs today—but they’re mostly happy and pleasant little ups. The biggest news of the day is Mercury’s turn to come to a dead stop as he joins Mars in going retrograde, to stay until January 15. Today is a day of missed messages, snarled and confused traffic, breakdowns in those new electronics you just opened yesterday, and—you guessed it—returning gifts to the store. On a positive note, thanks to those little ups from the value-conscious Taurus moon, it looks like you’ll find the bargains you wanted, or those items you preferred when making exchanges today. THAT’S nice…And some hot cocoa by the fire tonight might just make it the Christmas-y kind of evening you’ve been hoping for. Enjoy it now, even if it’s late-coming.
Sunday the 27th of December starts slow, with only your personal aspects to get you moving this morning, and I say if you don’t have to—why bother? Later this evening, you’ll be very much absorbed and engaged in some seriously creative activity, and it should be very satisfying, even if it takes a while to get it off the ground, or even if there’s a minor bit of crankiness along the way. Venus conjuncts Pluto tonight at 10:50pm Pacific, and the lazy Taurus moon squares Mars, still confused by his retrograde motion. I’m a fan of Venus and Pluto when they’re blending positively like this—it’s also prime Sexy Time—but that moon-Mars thing at the same moment raises a small caution flag—so plan to be kind and flexible at that time, no matter what your activities. With that moon-Mars square, while a caution flag should be up, that might be the ONLY thing that is during this otherwise deeply satisfying Sexy Time…
Monday morning, December 28th gets off to a mildly bumpy start—for west-coasters, the alarm goes off too early (or not at all?) and/or the cat bounces off your head around 5:05-5:15am.

I promise… (Audio podcast free iTunes download at http://tinyurl.com/itsplan Direct download Podcast at http://itsplanetary.libsyn Aaaand we’re back, folks—not that you ever noticed we were gone since super-efficient us got it together and had a podcast ready to post while on the road. But we were, and I want to send my special thanks to Reiki Fur Babies who, along with our dear roommates here in Vegas, did some extra-special looking after my sixteen year-old little one, Simon. If you don’t know anything about Reiki, visit www.reikifurbabies.com to meet Candy and Ming, and to learn all about this amazing and very real form of healing. Thanks again ladies, for all the light you sent to my baby. We both appreciate it very much. Very quickly, I also want to send some particular thanks to my friend Heather Walden, who runs www.greensummit.org. While I’ve been dashing about like a chicken with my head cut off, this other Heather (aka @greensummit) has been so kind on my behalf, retweeting, reposting this podcast every week, and sending people to me for readings. HR2, you are just the very best thing. Thank you. Heather doesn’t only post MY podcast, but she’s turned one page of her site into sort of a mini-distillery for astro-blogs. You can find the blogs of some of my Twittermates there as well, and of course—lots of informative and interesting discussion on Heather’s own pet project, building sustainable housing in Argentina. What a lady… In fact, I have a great deal of gratitude and appreciation for many people that I’ve had the pleasure to meet on Twitter. I haven’t been there much at all for weeks now, but I’ll be the upcoming Mercury retrograde will correct that one way or another. But particular thanks to the ladies of www.astrocreepsandtarotfre So enough of my gratitude for now—you came here for information. So let’s get to it. Wowzy-wowzy-wow-WOW is this ever a month…I mean—this is a pretty busy week, but if we look ahead only 3 or 4 weeks and roll it all up in our view, there is a LOT going on. Old business first as always—we’re still under the effect of the Saturn-Pluto square that’s going to be with us for a good portion of 2010. Between this Big Bad Heavy and the lingering effects of Jupiter conjuncting “Wounded Healer” Chiron last week, getting us all in touch with our most poignant weaknesses—OUCH!! I’ve gotta tellya—I am SO feeling this combination—probably helped out by the next exact touch of the Sat-Pluto square falling precisely on my Solar Return for next year—and I’m realizing just how much work it’s going to take for me to keep myself out of patterns of negative thinking (from which I usually don’t suffer), general disappointment, and even minor depression, both in the immediate present and likely for the next year. Obviously, I did have some good days last week, and so did you—these are all more subtle and far-reaching aspects than the few hours affected by moon transits, or the day or two affected by Sun transits. But as I mentioned in last week’s podcast, if you’re wondering why you haven’t quite been feeling in that holiday spirit like you might’ve in years past—here it is, and boy is it EVER freakin’ PLANETARY. Fortunately though (and I’m tentative about saying this, since I’m taking any feelings of lightness and happiness moment by moment lately) it does appear to be lifting. That makes sense, of course—once we get a look at this week, and thank goodness. But it also shows us how important it is to actively make use of the fabulously creative (as in creating your future) elements that are blessing all of us this week, rather than just soaking up the holiday lights and hot chocolate and letting this incredible opportunity wash over us in a warm glow only to fade away soon after… Again, it’s Monday, December 13, 2009, and the goodness begins. The VOC moon from last night shifts into fancy-free Sagittarius this morning at 4:25am Pacific, putting us almost instantly in a good mood. Sure, sure---there’s a square from the Sun to Uranus this morning too—at 7:30am Pacific—and that could most definitely mean an unpleasant surprise, but I think it will likely have come about last night, or perhaps while you slept. (Not that that makes it any better.) What DOES make it better is that the Sun also gets set to start making out with Jupiter and Neptune today and tomorrow, which, accompanied by a “Let’s Party!” new moon in Sagittarius in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday, and man oh man, are the first few days of this week merry and bright. At long last we won’t be faking it in the hopes that it’ll kick in for real, nor TRYING to feel happy, nor playing out your holiday traditions but feeling empty somehow inside. THIS is the magic that kicks it in somehow—that fantastical spark that you’ve been missing in the recent weeks. And it LASTS. Not just a few hours, but for days on end. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! And that’s just what you should be saying, too—to loved ones, to your life, to your Self, to your God of choice. Beginning at least midway through the day on Monday, all of Tuesday, and a good portion of Wednesday are heady, light, and joyous—and it’s all just a warm-up… My plans for these days (in addition to the Normal Life Stuff) are to get very quiet, very clear, and very much out of my own way as I set brilliant and vibrant intentions not only for the remainder of this year, but for the year ahead as well. One thing I’m going to be very sure to include in those intentions that I sometimes forget to mention is the protection of myself and my loved ones. I’m going to look ahead to the scariest events in the coming weeks and in 2010, and in my visualization, I’m going to put a bubble of light and love around those I care about. I do this all the time, really—with Simon & Jozef especially, and with myself when someone coughs near me, etc. But I’m going to cover everyone deliberately, I’m going to project these bubbles of light into the future, and I’m going to set my intention that those bubbles stay in place around those people (and events where necessary) all year long. I’m also going to do my usual December intention-setting routine, with new-and-improved visualizations for 2010, including what I want to look like, feel like, be doing with my life, spending my time with, getting paid, my best visions for my friends and family, for my life direction, and on and on and on. At some point this week, I will most certainly write all of this down on paper. Maybe more than once. And at some point, I will most definitely take the best walk of the year on the most beautiful day (regardless of the weather) and I will repeat these intentions to myself over and over and over again—OUT LOUD (or at least in a passionate whisper.) Yes, I really do this every year. My Sagittarius stellium gets activated at this time every year, and once I became aware of the power that exists here, I made it a deliberate and definitive practice. I may fall in and out of exercise habits, but this is a Once a Year event that I can’t afford to let slide. My point in telling YOU all of this is that YOU should be doing this too—not only yearly in December, but most specifically THIS WEEK. Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday would be best. And that’s really as specific as I need to get with those days. Enjoy them—they’ll feel wonderful I expect, your personal transits notwithstanding, but keep your wits about you and don’t over-indulge, whether it be food, drink, or your debit card… So—That new moon in Sadge at 4am Pacific on Wednesday morning should give you plenty of time to sleep off a hangover if you need to (though again—DON’T waste this incredibly powerful time on just partying)—the moon is VOC from 4am until it steps firmly into “Back to Business” Capricorn at 2:30pm. You know the drill—no consequences, no results during a VOC. Sort your socks, organize the pantry, clean up the bottles from the yard. That’s IT. And of course, the moon meets up tonight with I’m Too Intense for You Pluto this evening, still in its square with Saturn. It’s a great night for going to bed early. It is NOT a great night for a heart-to-heart. And speaking of Wednesday night, if you can get to bed early, you’ll be in luck—and frankly, you might be even if it’s late. On Thursday morning, December 17th, there’s a beautiful trine between Venus and Mars that means that each of us will have enjoyed a super-creative burst last night (Christmas crafts? Cookies by the mound?) or—even better—we will have enjoyed some super-fun Sexy Time. There’s even the chance that this aspect hanging out in the sky as we go to bed Wednesday night can overpower the moon’s heavy little touches to the Saturn-Pluto square—so let’s set our intentions for that and just enjoy the night, eh? With Mars about to go retrograde, you’ll definitely want to use its last bits of energy to the max. We’ll be missing that energy before long… That Crazy-Beautiful Creative & Sexy trine between Venus and Mars is really all the news of the day on Thursday, frankly. It’s a productive and busy day for many of us, attending efficiently to a million details—but we’ll still likely be in a very good mood. The only other aspects today actually come in the middle of the night—some news or a message arrives just before midnight Pacific. Simple as that. Moving on to Friday the 18th—ack. Okay—no—it’s not that bad, really—it’s just not a day for getting anything done, which is going to drive the Capricorn moon bonkers. You’ll wake up with a start this morning (and probably have a little crankiness as a result) but a pleasant surprise around lunchtime Pacific tells me your Sweet One surprised you for lunch at work and you might wind up with the rest of the day off as well. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT be tempted to do anything resembling Christmas Shopping or sending your holiday cards after 12:10pm, however—that little surprise kicks off a moon void that lasts until 2:40am Saturday morning. It’s a great day for mallwalking, driving around to see Christmas lights, or just sitting by the fire sipping hot cocoa. Whatever it is, just make sure you set your plans before noon Pacific that day (lucky East Coasters have till 3pm). Actually, based on pretty Venus cozying up to that stellium in Aquarius, starting with a kiss to Chiron Saturday morning, a fireside snuggle or quality time with the family might be the best use of Friday night after all. Venus kissing Chiron shows us All is Forgiven, and there are warm hugs to wake us up on Saturday. If you’re alone (as I certainly have been in the past) lie in bed a while this morning and hug yourself—seriously. It works. It will today, at least… By the way, the moon shifts into “We’re All in This Together” Aquarius at 2:40am Saturday morning, and as it’s a pretty upbeat sign (most of the time) our vibe can turn away from the details a bit, and get back to bigger inspirations. Just mind the gaps at least SOME on Saturday—Venus also squares Uranus this evening, bringing a pretty unhappy surprise, and everything might just come to a complete stop. What I mean by that complete stop is that in the pre-dawn hours of SUNDAY morning, Mars begins that retrograde period I mentioned earlier in the week. Briefly, Mars rules our DRIVES and our PASSIONS. You’re not likely to notice it immediately, but in the coming weeks, as Mars backs up in the sky, you’ll both be able to take (somewhat muted and/or irrelevant) action on things you’ve neglected since October (like Twitter, Miss Burdette?), and you’ll discover that any and ALL projects that required any sort of drive, attention, action, or passion whether from you or from others, have come to an utter and complete stop. I always experience Mars retrogrades as though I’m walking in molasses up to my waist, and with every heavy, syrupy step, it gets thicker and thicker. Great way to start the New Year, huh? And Mars will BE retrograde until March, with the shadow period (where the back-tracked area is re-covered) lasting even longer. Mandi Lockley of AstroAir Astrology has a great article on this available on her Facebook fan page, as does my pal Astrogrrl, at Astrogrrl.com, of course. Go check those out for some more perspectives on the Mars retrograde. We’ll talk about it here more in the future as well… Moving on to brighter topics, just because we can—and HALLELUJAH!! (And yes, for those of you reading, I totally had to look up how to spell that.) Sunday, December 20, 2009 is absolutely my favorite day this year. Hands-down. I have no idea what will even happen—and of course, one of the elements I’m referencing has been affecting us since last week, really—and off and on all year, too. In the wee hours of Monday morning by the Pacific coast clock, Jupiter makes its third and final touch to Neptune before they sail away from each other, not meeting again for another 13 years or so. In the evening hours of Sunday the 20th, beautiful Venus will bless this meeting, bestowing kisses on Jupiter and Neptune, each in turn. Now, many astrologers—even pals of mine—will warn against the excessive optimism we could be feeling all week long as a result of this incredibly blessed and infrequent meeting. Maybe I should warn of that as well—but I can’t bring myself to do it. See—I have an exact conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune in my own chart, with a plenty-active Mars just 2 degrees away, making my own Triple conjunction in Sagittarius. And while I am certainly over-the-top at times, while I am certainly optimistic, and oh yeah—DEFINITELY self-righteous—while I definitely over-indulge (particularly in pleasurable food, drink, and activities), and while yes, I must confess to an unbelievably lazy streak---I LOVE MY JUPITER-NEPTUNE conjunction!! I love it, love it, love it, LOVE it. I truly (in true self-righteous fashion) consider it to be the jewel of my chart. And since I discovered astrology and have seen its reflection both in my being and in my active life, I can’t believe how blessed I am to have it. Whenever someone compliments my creativity, or my bizarrely-long list of skills and abilities, I secretly think of my triple conjunction, and my heart just glows around it. Oh sure—there’s PLENTY wrong with me and my chart—just like everyone else. But this conjunction in a natal chart only comes along once every 12-14 years, and I feel so incredibly blessed. I’ve looked at the small circle of friends that I grew up with who have it too, and I can count at least two legitimate and official missionaries, a spiritual Life Coach, and a Christian rock star. Seriously. Okay—so I came to Vegas and made a career of literally having fun and playing, but still! In other words, there’s a theme here. Two missionaries, a spiritual Life Coach, a Christian rock star, and me, who has finally begun preaching on a weekly basis myself. I don’t believe these friends and the expanded circle of unusually-gifted friends I knew in my school year are special—but I do know that all of us have gone on to lead miraculous lives in one way or another… Heh heh. I’ve been working on this particular podcast all week long in my head. In fact, I’ve been working on it all year, really. I keep tossing this around—and the thing that now comes to mind is probably already what you’re thinking. This really does have something to do with God. And happening in Aquarius as it is now, instead of in Capricorn as it did 13 years ago--along WITH the presence of Chiron in the mix all year long—we’re reminded this time around that we’re all in this together. Aquarius has a very strong need to stand apart, to be special—but it will absolutely see to it that you have every advantage that it enjoys—and that you bear your share of the load. You thought Libra was about balance? Sure—and balance is related to equality, which is what Aquarius is all about. When Jupiter has conjuncted Chiron each time this year, we have felt our weaknesses—whatever they are for each of us personally. But what we were meant to notice is that the guy sitting next to you felt exactly the same way. I believe very strongly that you create your reality with your thoughts and feelings. In essence—we ARE God. But that “we” implies the collective sense again. You know—when I was doing intensive spiritual and self-awareness work regularly, I recall coming to a point where I went from thinking in the “this is my movie, I write the script” form to discovering that sometimes, even when I was truly entirely clear and creating cleanly, that my creation failed. “Creationists” excuse what they call “certain natural laws like gravity” –but if you are TRULY creating your reality, couldn’t you literally rise above it? No, they say—you can’t create over someone ELSE’S creation—and for whatever reason, we have all accepted that gravity works. But wait—if I can’t create over someone else’s creation, then I’m not ENTIRELY in charge, am I? Yeah. There must be something bigger than me. Maybe that’s the point: Remember the Greater Source. Or maybe—it’s remember just how big the Higher version of your Self is—whether you are a small, contributing part of a collective that makes up God, or whether You, as in “I”…..ARE THE BODY of that collective, or…. In any case, I think I’m getting the message that “it’s not about me” in MUCH bigger ways than I previously thought…what an Aquarian sort of message. Whatever face we put on it, whatever name we give it, Jupiter joining Neptune is a moment where the barriers between this physical world and our Creator come down. I stood on a majestic Slovakian mountain peak at the first touch this year, and at the edge of the truly Grand Canyon at the second touch. I have no travel plans, so who knows what great symbolism I’ll experience on Sunday the 20th or on that Monday. But it seems to me, in keeping with the meaning of Aquarius, that my feet could very well be right here on the ground, feeling the majesty and grandeur of humanity itself. Feeling connected to YOU. Feeling God in every cell of my being. Feeling a holy euphoria wherever I go. I can’t wait… Yes—there are plenty of reasons to be cautionary as well. That Saturn-Pluto square is still down there, and if you’re the type that enjoys focusing on the heavy (I definitely do my share of that as well) you can reach down under all the golden beauty we have on hand this week and find it. It’s down there. If you want to think about the danger we all face, the hopefully-not-literally earth-shattering events that lie in the potential for 2010, you’re supported in doing so. That’s a face of God too, anyway. Factoring in the pair of eclipses that are also only weeks away—what? You haven’t felt the rising tension? The first one hits on New Year’s Eve—the events of this month are even more electrified. But this holiday season—whatever holiday you celebrate, or even if you don’t deliberately celebrate at all—this month, this WEEK holds more potential to create beauty, to create a positive equality, to create a better form of humanity than we’ll have for many, many decades to come. My hope is that you’ll live up to your responsibility as a citizen of the planet and put it to good use by turning that joy into positive visions of the future. How’s THAT for an Aquarian message? So. Where others would tell you this is a “golden opportunity” (and it is) and that you should beware of being overly-optimistic (yes, you probably should) what I will tell you is simply this: Feel your belief, your faith with all your heart this week. Feel how close you are to God, or even—if your belief lets you—how you ARE God. Know that no matter what happens next month or next year, that all is as it should be. Feel the blessings that rain down on us constantly, but that we can only FEEL this tangibly once in a great while. Feel blessed, BE blessed, create the most golden, incredible visions that you can for yourself, your life, your loved ones. Take on the miscellaneous plights of humanity as if they were the troubles of the person you love the most. Truly consider what the other person might want or need as opposed to what YOU think they should. Most of all—get to the top of the highest mountain you can and say thank you. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you. And thank YOU. As always, my unfailing gratitude to Marco Landin for the additional voice talent on It’s Planetary, and to my own Jozef Bobula for original music and sound production.
